Maybe the answer should have been to put the protagonists in the BB house, match them up against each other and then get the electorate to vote.

That's how you have interpreted it...i clearly stated he can believe what he likes as i don't care. If you have interpreted that to your own understanding that's your problem.

Could you explain to me the interpretation of 4-5% of the vote then? (which of course overstates it since BNP voters are more likely to vote)

Errrr....No. That was the result of the local elections in which votes cast are private so people can vote for whoever they want without anyone knowing who they voted for.

well love them or loath them they[the bnp] got a seat, by the democratic process,so it was a majority decission[for that area], the people spoke ,is that not democracy at work?, thats what its all about, if you dont like democratic decissions ,then moove to a dictatatorship or some other unsavoury place where people have no rights . nb this is not a critisism of trev its a critisism of those who can't accept democrecy

Actually the London seat was given on the basis of a large enough share of the vote, the seats are given out that way. So while they never got a majority in any one area their small minorities were enough.

Under the Transferable Vote system, if a party got >5% of the votes, it got a seat on the Assembly - the BNP got 5.3%, so it got a seat. 5.3% isn't "most" - 94.7% who didn't vote for the BNP is "most". :D
