Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

It been like that since they fixed it (added more gaffa tape lol) in July.
After each time they do what ever, my upstream power levels go up a bit.

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

Had engineer visit today, he swapped 2ac for 3 had problems getting it to run at first noted better upstream and bad downstream left to go to a call but left contact if problem not cleared, at about 14 30 back up to 200 mbs again, so must be a problem in city and did sa upgrading going on.

There is some work going on this week in Lincoln ;)

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

Both my Upstream powerlevels have gone down on to 45.5.

6 32600000 ATDMA 45.5 16 qam 6400000 5120
5 39400000 ATDMA 45.5 64 qam 6400000 5120

I don't really have an issue with VM doing work during the day, as long as I know. Why can't VM just send a letter or even an email, to let us know.

Instead of finding out when it goes down and you phone up.

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

We used to do the work during the night but with people staying up longer it becomes harder to do this . No matter what method we use to contact the customers some people just ignore it and call in anyway .

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

Well in LN5 area my supposed download speed of 200 Mbps is currently 7.7Mbp/s and upload speed is 11.73Mbp/s, an engineer came last week and cx super hub to a 3 with no improvement and said the upgrades were going on in Lincoln, however, I am still paying for 200Mbp/s and website states no problems with BB in Lincoln retentions or fault report (again)?

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

what are your power levels like because you are getting full speed upstream?

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

no idea but engineer told me today this is happening all over the city and network engineers are trying to track down the problem, I might hear more tomorrow.

---------- Post added at 20:25 ---------- Previous post was at 20:23 ----------

vm said there is a power problem and that is the problem they are trying to nail down

---------- Post added at 20:26 ---------- Previous post was at 20:25 ----------

However since there are now 10,000 students at Lincoln uni alone that might be the additional problem

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

Well it's now 00: 30 and I have just got a reading of 220.63 Mb/s download and 12:30 upload so go figure. I can only assume network maintenance or massive over utilisation problems in the city.

like I said to start off with dude, I think it is going to be a utilisation issue at the top end of town, there is just way too much student accommodation. That being said, I think there is a noise fault somewhere as well. Back in August my connection went down two weekends on the trot and they said there was a noise issue they were investigating. When I rang up a few weeks later to upgrade to 350mbits I got an automated message apologising that I was still experiencing problems, it is a complex issue and they are working on it.

That being said, it is always worth checking your power levels yourself because more often than not you cannot believe the bs tech support tells you.

If your shub is in modem mode you need to go to http://192.168.0.1 and if it is modem mode go to http://192.16.100.1 and look at the following screens:

If you can post some shots of your downstream and upstream power levels that would be great.

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

these are a few of the readings at this time tonight,
Router Status
Acquired Downstream 299000000
Ranged upstream 258000000

Downstream Channel 1 299000000 -1.9 40.3 256 qam 17
Upstream bonded channels channel 1 258000000 ATDMA 43.9 16 qam 6400000

Primary Downstream service flow 230000000

Primary upstream service flow 12700000

Network log shows many errors of two types

84020200 Lost MDD Timeout

84000700 RCS Partial service

Hope this helps

Re: Anyone else having problems in Lincoln?

is your connection up? You have only given information for one downstream channel and one upstream channel and the only time that happens is when it is in its provisioning state and not connected to the network. The fact that you have copied info for channel 17 makes me think you should be using 20 downstream channels like me and 2 upstream.
