I'm in Gosport and my box is updating too. It's been stuck on the "Updating your box... Do no turn off or switch off the power" for about 15 mins now. |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
It can take upto an hour to do the update from what i have seen posted on here
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Sounds like I've got another half an hour to go then.
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix

|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Mines updated, but no sign of Netflix.
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Have you looked under apps, mine is still updating
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
My box has just started update about 10 min ago (uddingston area) :)
no sign of netflix in apps :( Update done a soft reboot and hey presto netflix appeared :) |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Got the update in ipswich. Had to go through the network tests and reconnections to get Netflix. Still it worked in the end after rebooting about 6 times which didn't do anything for me.
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Stafford has been updated but will have to have a play with it later
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix

Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
What did I say! Second to last or last to get an update EVERYTIME. Haha I'm not that bitter but literally this happens for each update. Virgin hate my headend...
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Hi
Its here in the Black Country and apart from being a bit slow its perfect. Well done Virgin billc |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Can confirm Ipswich was done around 5 am!
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
So apparently I'm not Bromley
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Anyone else's Netflix not running at Super HD straight away? Mine seems to stick with 480SD until it manages to buffer Super HD

It's designed that way so that you get the picture straight away; it should gradually ramp up to the highest bitrate for the title. It's caled 'variable bit rate streaming' (or something like that). |

Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Hi all, just a quick question, is their a shortcut to get to the netfix app, without having to do seven button presses
Thanks |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
You can add it as a favourite app, which'll put it in the top menu item under Apps & Games.

Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
I was told I'd loose one of my loyalty discounts for wanting the 6 months free Netflix, so just stuck with the discount as worth more in long run.

had it comfirmed by Rententions if u got any loyalty discount it that or netflix, also existing customers can get it no mention of new contract on fone to me. everyone should be done by thursday no later
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Well, to contradict you, I have just committed to Netflix for 6 months FOC, and the gent I spoke to said that anyone on a loyalty discount will not be eligible for this unless they agree to pay the same as others (which I suppose is reasonable)
He also confirmed the 12 month contract ! Difference of opinion here !! |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Just called up, 6 months free, no mention of a new contract. I'm on VIP 120 or whatever it's called this week.
Just waiting on the discount code coming through. |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
So, three different people called in, and we all got a different response
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
I already have Netflix account AND loyalty money off my bill so i guess i am stuck - also i have not got the update yet as i live in the last zone to get anything ever :D - will just keep everything as it is i think as i am happy with my contract.

Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
I've rung Virgin Media to take up the free 6 months Netflix promo offer, I couldnt understand a word they were saying to me. The bloke i was put through to transfered me to someone else who said * So you got a problem with your tv * I said noooo, i wanna take up the free 6 months Netflix promo offer. He told me to go on the netflix website and sign up. dear me ...
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
I've just had a very similar conversation with the overseas call centre!. I gave up, but just spoke to someone on cable forum, and they have confirmed that you will, lose your loyalty discount if you sign up to the netflix offer, so isn't worth losing my discount, so not going to bother.
|
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
I gave up too and said i'll call another time.

Here virgin have an offer for £25 for 6 months premier collection. Can i not sign a new contract using this offer and get the free netflix for 6 months too? I have that same package at the minute without the netflix offer and am paying £47 |

I had "loyalty offers" as well as a few others on here. However, I saved more money by losing my "loyalty offer" than through keeping it.:erm::confused: Lower monthly bills and 6 months free netflix, smashing!!:) Just gotta wait for the e-mail with code. I was told the wait would be 5 working days, not just 5 days. Probably a silly question but, does anyone know if I will be able to use a free trial whilst waiting for the code (provided I get the update before the code that is), or will they register the use of Netflix on my TIVO box thus stopping me using both deals? |
Re: TiVo Update/Netflix
Not that is for new customers joining VM
---------- Post added at 18:30 ---------- Previous post was at 18:28 ---------- Yeah I would have lost 12 months of £5 discount to get Netflix free.. free trials it is then. |

I didnt qualify for free 6 months netflix so was put thro to redemptions.
The also said i didnt qualify as an existing customer but gave me 18 months at a £5 discount for loyalty. I did agree to a new 12 month contract. No other changes. Lot cheaper than 6 months free netflix. |
