One of the best footballing moments I've ever seen. Haven't even got to support Chelsea for me to have jumped all over the place. reminded me of Liverpool in 2005.

Along with this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9JyCzbBACw

Truly a remarkable end to the season for Chelsea and City which will be forever remembered worldwide. Greatest EPL season ever, You couldn't write the script for the ending, It was just sensational. Unlikely that we'll ever see something like that again :(

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

I was jumping all over the place for the Chelsea one, and not because I was happy for them winning. And the City ending was great, although I was getting quite nervous towards the end. And I'll never forget those blissful 10 minutes in which I thought Bolton had managed to avoid relegation then finding out they had missed it thanks to Stoke.

I feel for the fans to be fair. The club has been ripped apart by not just one poor decision but many. Crap businessmen that have quickly disappeared.

From what I can make out all the owners since gaydamak have been his stooges, how they can be adjudged to be fit and proper is beyond me.

Similar to the stats he had in his first season with us and similar to the stats he had in the first few months with City. No one has ever doubted his talent just his work rate and motivation long-term.

Arsenal won't have a striker to match RVP but hopefully we can have more goals coming from across the team next year. We need to get a defensive midfielder and, imo, one more striker.

With Rangers in div 3, you might as well give Celtic the SPL cup now.

When the Scottish leagues lose TV money they'll regret not letting Ranger "Newco" in the SPL.

The English clubs should now say if Celtic want in the PL they start at the bottom as well.

I doubt it. Wenger has year after year had superior performing strikers despite the doom and gloom around the club. In fact once up on a time people cried RVP was not good enough to replace Adebayor ;)

If you would have said Fabregas or Nasri or Flamini etc then yes I would have held my hands up. But for strikers Wenger might sign some terrible strikers but barely a year goes by when at least one of ours isn't a superstar.

Despite popular belief, scottish football is more than celtic and rangers, except if you ask old firm fans

I'd rather see my club struggle, then allow a club to cheat and benefit because they consider they are too big to be punished.

And as far as the rangers fans are concerned, instead of throwing toys out of the pram, recognise that your club was in the wrong, and accept the punishment. Tired of hearing "yah, put us in 3, hope you are all jealous of our money"

Its true, you might as well give the league title each season to Celtic as there isn't a club big enough to take Celtic on.

SFA have shot themself in the foot, without the Old Firm games to bring in the Tv money Scottish football is dead, and Rangers playing in the third division don't make me laugh, some of there grounds are not big enough for the Rangers fans.

Sky and ESPN will pull out of tv or re talk there contracts and l guarantee it won't be a lot of money now.

Bye By Scottish football:(

Slight exaggeration

Less money, yes. Death of scottish football?

You don't think it was struggling now? Best thing in the world would be both old firm teams leaving, or accepting they do not own the game in Scotland

Yeah it's a shame about Gylfi but as a player with no connection to the club (reportedly a Man U fan) it's no surprise that he would jump at the opportunity to double his money or whatever the real figures happen to be.

Rangers are members of the FA. They were given honorary membership many, many years ago and it was never removed or revoked...

But yeah it'll never happen so let's move on.

Already being worked on. At least three SPL clubs have had 'chats' with their banks about revised budgets and plans for repaying their debts.
At the SPL meeting on Monday I fully expect some form of compromise to be offered to get Rangers back into the SPL this season or next.

Hopefully they get told to shove it where the sun don't shine and Rangers rebuilt and grow on the way back up.

Colin 25, Scottish football had some great clubs, Motherwell, Aberdeen etc, but these have all fallen on bad times.

With Rangers playing in the third division, the only one who will benefit is the small clubs, and good luck to them, but Ranegsr will get back in the big time, but l think that Scottish football will struggle big time, and it would not surprise me if Tv pulled out all together, you can't have Celtic on each week can you.

Sigh..whilst i appreciate some think that laying before the God of mammon is the only way that football can survive, I disagree

Perhaps some clubs will struggle, some might go down, I can't predict that

But for far too long football clubs have been leaving debt all over the place, it is about time they paid..if that means clubs close..so be it

At the moment, the last few years have not been good for scottish clubs, partly fueled by Rangers spending other peoples money...which not paying tax etc was

Rangers have not been punished yet, they have only been treated like any other club.

Expect Andy Carroll back on Tyneside soon, having him on Loan is Brilliant business before having the option to purchase for the sum of between £15-20 million at the end of the season.

I'm not sure it is that exaggerated. Granted papers will print almost anything about football, as the basis of fact seems to be a lower standard on that subject (papers inventing rumours is not unheard of)

But equally I though Suarez has said (in paper but quoted) that he was unhappy, and that he felt Liverpool made him the scapegoat (though in Uruguay, that might be scapepigeon)

It seems things are going from bad to worse with RVP leaving as well and in some ways Arsenal have not learnt the lessons from lasst season where we had the Nasri and Fabregas fiasco's which played out throughout the summer.

Ruling out M'Vila doesn't mean ruling out all players. Also I wouldn't pay attention to what Wenger ever says about transfers, he ruled out Podoski earlier this year. Arsenal have learnt anyway, they've already brought two strikers and the main window hasn't kicked off yet.

Saw on SSN today that Portsmouth are apparently days away from being liquidated. I hope that doesn't happen. What would happen to the League structure if they did liquidate? Would they promote teams to juggle the structure, or leave League 1 with 23 clubs and promote one more team next season, or what?

I hope it doesn't happen although with tal Ben haim trousering 35k per week its hardly surprising, leave now tal you've done well out of the club, better than your talent deserved and take kanu with you. Poor old pompy never got out from gaydamak and his stooges shadows.

The top team that missed out on promotion all the way down the leagues goes up I guess.

He doesn't really rule him out. But things are not too bad anyway. We will have Wilshere available at some point for the box to box role and AOC will probably have more game this year and (a big) maybe Diaby can play more than an hour this term.

Things are no where near as bad as last year. This time they want to get rid of RVP too so no big fiasco like Fabregas and Nasri.

Not if the fixture list is out iirc, they just play with a team less in div 1, I think

Yes clubs do tend to throw away money like confetti in these days of austerity.

I am delighted about this, for the simple reason is that players no matter who they cannot get away from doing this.

On the pitch it is down to the authority who control football and the 'respect' campaign, players should note that there are many different cultures out there and they should show respect to each other, fans can lip read what is said between players.

When l used to ref games and also play the game, we all called each other names, but we never question a persons birth.

No well done FA.

? I can not believe you were never called a person whose mother was unmarried. Isn't that questioning your birth (unless it is true, then it is a fact) :)

Colin25, l have been many names in my life, but l have never question a persons colour - that to me is disrepectful, you are what you are in my view.

When l was called a certain name on the pitch - l sent him a red card. I have also been been called the B and C word.

You name it l have been called it- it goes in one ear and out the other.

In my present job, l get called various names but l have been trained to let it ride over my head.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Never thought you called anyone anything. I was merely remarking surprise that your birth wasn't questioned (re quote "but we never question a persons birth."), as I am almost positive it was a popular chant at football at one time. But maybe football is different where you were a referee

 Isn't the B word the one that questions your legitimacy?... or did some foul mouth soccer player compare you to a female dog?

Edit: reread what you said, by questioning their birth you mean questioning their ethnicity rather than the blank space on a birth certificate where a father's name appears.

You're absolutely correct... soz.

Although using the B word on it's own as an insult could also be offensive.

Anyway fellow dogs, back on thread.

I am wondering who Man City will get.

They need a defender (maybe 2), a midfielder, and a striker if they lose one. Not convinced we absolutely need van persie. (I would love Hulk, platonic of course, not the love we can not say :))

On signings so far, impressed with Chelsea's signings. If they got hulk, I would put them as joint favourites. Man Utd, if they got van persie and a midfielder..ditto.

Arsenal, they still need at least three signings, defense, midfield and striker if van persie leaves, before I would rate their chances

Sorry Den, liverpool I think will be playing for 6th

Read on the back page of The People that Ashley Cole is apparently going to run down his contract at Chelski and go to United on a free transfer next summer.

Thought there was a rule that a player could buy their contract out and leave up to 2 years early?

they suck. like-wise Wenger whom burns decent players out by playing them too much due to depth being useless. anyway we're linked with a midfield trio. Cazorla and Sahin would be really good buys. plus a DM, the latest name being Celtics Wanyama anyone have knowledge on Wanyama?

Robin will in my opinion leave for Juve or stays if Wenger buys or because no one coughs up.

I'd say Wanyama is a good prospect rather than the finished article. He looked excellent in some games last season but also was inconsistent in others. He has played in various positions, midfield and defence, but I reckon he's best as a defensive midfielder.

M'Vila links are either dead due to behavior or money.

He's like a young Neil Lennon with some of Vieras attributes. Not as good as either yet though. Reads the game well and breaks up play. Not as good as Lennon because he does sometimes lose concentration and plays silly passes. Better pace than Lennon and he can get forward and chip in with the odd goal and assist.

I think Lennon has brought him on a bit and think Wenger could improve him further. I'd be happier to see him stay at Celtic for another season at least because I do rate him.
