If you have a tivo then this is a known bug. Use the skip forward button to go straight to the bottom program, then navigate upwards-not ideal but works for now.

I was watching Bulletproof via SKY Movies Anytime earlier and about half way through the movie stopped. An info box popped up advising there was a problem with on demand in my area. I had to stop the movie. This is the first time I've ever had this problem. Anyone else had this?

Yes. We will get the same HD movies that Sky has and when there's more added to Sky Virgin media will also get them.

The problem is that there are two press releases and one says that there'll be some HD movies and the other says that the movies will be SD only.

There was only one press release.

It was another mistake on their website. It doesn't ever mention Sky Sports which Essjay has also said is coming very soon

:D not at all Diablo, first part of this year Virgin seemed completely inactive as far as TV improvement goes (TiVo will be great but too many things missing and glitches for me yet), however past few months have been very impressive. Have been considering going back to Sky for quite a few months but the hassle of changing everything again was holding me back. Now I'm happy to stay with Virgin;). If they go back into sluggish mode I'll start the moanathon again:D

I dont think people like Amir Kahn or the WWE will not stop doing PPV, they MAY reduce price but I cant see them going all the way.

SKY have dropped PPV boxing. That's why Frank Warren has set up Box Nation. The only PPV events that will be shown in HD will be WWE. Don't SKY only show about 6 or 7 WWE events on SKY Box Office per year? I don't think it'll be worth Virgin trying to get SKY Box Office HD for the sake of 6 or 7 events in the year.

Virgin Media TV XL customers can now view hundreds of extra hours of their favourite shows from Sky1, Sky LIVING, and Sky Arts for free! This means that, over the next few weeks, you’ll be able to start watching shows like An Idiot Abroad, Martina Cole’s The Take, and Spartacus: Blood And Sand whenever you want, at no extra cost.

You’ll even be able to watch some of the newest and biggest shows currently showing, like Glee, Fringe, Modern Family and even Steven Spielberg’s brand new epic sci-fi series Terra Nova, all within hours of their first showing.

It's not officially a catchup service. It's a curated catalogue of Sky content that just happens to include recent programming.

So far, I have not seen any content other than Sky's own programming. There are no US dramas such as Chase, Terra Nova, House etc.

It seems as though the Sky 1 folder is going to be a lot like Sky Living which has not had any US content added to it such as Bones and Criminal Minds etc yet we've had that folder for months.

I was really looking forward to Sky Anytime on VM but not looking that great if you don't have the Movie subscriptions :-(

I'm sure the US content will arrive , it depends on the deals Sky signs with the US networks however I would imagine their new content acquisitions would mostly include On Demand rights as Glee , Terra Nova , Ringer , Modern Family etc are available.

Since the Sky Movies folder has been added to Movies on Demand my TiVo box keeps freezing when I try and scroll through the offerings there and I need to do a hard reset - switching it off and on again from the back of the box - before I can view TV as normal using the TiVo remote. This happened twice yesterday. If there's going to be the claimed 500 films available there then it's an absolute must that they be organised into categories to prevent the box choking. The sooner the better.

Exactly the same problem with Tivo
Scrolls down to Peter Pan, which I make number 160 in the list and then
you get the message:

"No Programmes Currently Available"

Re: Sky Anytime

Hi guys,

I've been looking at the offerings on Sky Anytime for TV XL (no movies or sport) and when I look by channel and go into any of the options (Sky 1, Sky LIVING, etc) it brings up the first page of programmes within that channel listing but if I press the page down button to scroll down the list, it just freezes for a minute or two and then says "no programmes available". I've also tried just going down the list using the arrow down button and the same thing happens.

I've just rebooted my TiVo and it's still the same.

Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing this? It only appears to be the Sky Anytime content as I can scroll freely through all other non-Sky on demand content.

It's not just you. I have this problem as well. Haven't found a fix yet. Spoken to VM who say they are aware and should be sorted soon.

It's been fixed in Blackburn and It looks the Sky Anytime fix is still to be rollled out to all areas.

Just so you know, I'm in Blackburn, and it's still 15.1. Glad we can finally get to page two of the Sky Anytime lot. Just used to hang on Jade Goody Saved My Life, or something to that effect.

The scrolling seems to work OK on my second box - V+HD
so is it just the Tivo that's struggling ??

It's been confirmed by VM that it's a bug and it fixed in the update.

I have posted elsewhere that a known work around is to use the skip forward button (right arrow into a line above blue and next to slow) to go to the bottom of the menu and then scroll up.

I say confirmed but can't find the link now, maybe my brain has gone a bit mushy from reading the VM community forum too much!!

Doesn't work for me sadly

Just out of interest, does anyone know if the sky anytime content will be added to the virgin player online?

Unless I`m missing something I can`t see where it says how many pages of films there are on the Tivo box but I can on theV+ box upstairs.
Sat with Mrs blackthorn last night and decided to have a look at the films. She made me give up after 20 minutes and watch live tv as it was taking too long to scroll through the films. It was taking nearly 1 minute to get from the bottom of the list to the next page.
Are there any lists of the films anywhere that I can print off and then use the search, maybe that would be quicker.

Re: Sky Anytime

A lot of people are asking if the films will be categorised, but if you have tivo, and as per Ben's post, the content shows up in search and browse, then it's done for you in browse> films> categories albeit this will show you content from other on demand sources as well. I almost never go in to the on demand menus any more.

You're not alone in this. Scrolling is about as fast as continental drift. On the occasions my TiVo hasn't frozen solid and needed a hard reboot I've given up trying to find a film and gone back to watching live TV. It's got to be because of the large number of films in the list. Hopefully the upcoming software update will help as will categorizing the films once they're all uploaded and available (hopefully very soon).
