I presume that we will only be able to select something to view on Red button (eg match choice) but we won't be able to record your choice of match as you can on Sky? Would that be true?
|
Re: sky sports red button
Tivo's red button service is in HD! Here it is:

You are right you can record match choice games on Sky so maybe you will be able to on VM too. |
Re: sky sports red button
It'll either play back like any VoD content or just 'a stream' like BBC Red Button so its unlikely you can record.

The Tuesday game will be on Sky and Wednesday on ITV1/STV/UTV so no real need for it. |
Re: sky sports red button
can some 1 clear this up 4 me when the red button come 2moz what time will the red button come and the next day will it be there (like bbc red button) or will it only come up wth stuffs on like footy
|

The red button is always available on Sky but most of the time it is just for the Sky Text service. When there is an actual interactive service available it tells you on screen what is 'hiding' behing the channel, for example 'match choice'. Maybe VM will just deliver a holding screen if content isn't available or the red button option may only work when there is additional content available. You'll soon find out as there's not long to wait now (hopefully!) |

OK, some of the red button stuff isn't that good (especially PQ) but I used to get very frustrated knowing there was content available that we couldn't watch, especially in todays circumstance where for example you could be really enjoying the ODI and then it gets hidden behind the red button. |
Re: sky sports red button
Tonight will be a landmark night for VM , sky sports red button , hope you all enjoy.

Re: sky sports red button
Does anyone have any proof that they can post which shows, 100% that the red button will be launching tonight? I'm still very dubious seeing that it's now 12:30pm and Virgin haven't made any kind of press release regarding it's launch. Is the launch of the red button tonight still purely based on rumor and speculation?

Re: sky sports red button
We’re giving you more control with Sky Sports red button.
Soon it will be even easier to catch your team on telly, thanks to the Sky Sports red button. If they’re not showing on the main channel, all you need to do is press the red button on your remote control, and Bob’s your uncle, you can scroll through all the games and select your side. It’ll work for all 2011-2012 Barclays Premier League matches, plus any UEFA Champions League match, ATP tennis, US Open, Heineken Cup and more. Plus, your clever red button unlocks loads of news and stats, too. And an extra bonus, from late spring you can use it to track down smaller sports events, games or highlights, too. Just keep an eye out for the red button appearing on your Sky Sports premium channels. Nice one! http://www.virginmediapeople.com/pri...fault.aspx#top |
Re: sky sports red button
Thanks mate... hmmm... wonder if that actually does mean match choice or only the ability to use the red button on the match you're watching... it's not clear to me.
