Best TV add was the Guiness white horses, worst was a caburys flake add with a woman underwater in a silky dress...looked like a squid releasing ink.

Yes it was used as a derogatory term for a not very bright female.

That incredibly annoying advert for some show called "Sing": The one with the assemblage of mouths that need boarding up.

I don't know what it is but it sounds like another mind numbing talent show with some shouty presenter or other.

I watch Judge Judy or Big Bang while I have tea every night and the ads are completely unavoidable. You can't even change channel because changed everything a few years ago so that all channels go to ad break at the same time.

You really must stop pontificating on what people should or not do OB as you lead your life the way you want to lead it and leave people to lead their lives they want to lead and if they like to watch adverts or watch anything else then that is their choice.

Gambling is addictive and harmful and unnecessary. It should be treated the same as tobacco and not allowed to advertise including sponsorship. This would especially apply to ads for bingo.

Most ads are annoying but I would gladly see this every time there is an ad break instead of the PPI adverts. I wish I could embed an audio file to automatically play with this post. "Gladstone Brookes".

Oh dear it must be bad telegramsam.

The trouble with a lot of these adverts nowadays are they are completely divorced from reality or are poorly made without any imagination at all.

I love it when they tie in the ads with the latest movie releases. Sky have done loads like that it must cost them a few $$$ because the characters always look completely real like Pixar/the studio have done all the animation themselves.

I bet they also use the adverts in other countries for other ISPs.

Pretty much every other advert on tv at the moment. There seems to be some school of thought which is under the impression that annoyance sells:

Plusnet (need I say more)

That crappy Ghostbusters themed ad for some debit card or other - Yes let's desecrate a movie which was pretty awful first time around

The Flash advert - oh what tune shall we set this advert to? how original

And the music in that Hyundai ad really, really grinds my gears. Lucky lucky me... lucky you when you try to sell that car in 5 years time and it's worth absolutely sod all

These days the TV goes on mute in our house when the ad breaks are on

I agree that 99.9% of ads are rubbish but there are a couple of special ones where a lot of thought goes into them.

The compare the meerkat adverts are a stroke of genius. I won't post all all of them because there are tonnes but you can have a look at a listing here if you want to watch them. The ones below are what started it all off and are many years old. If you haven't seen them watch them in the order I have posted:

I can always tell when an advert works on me (which is rare) because I actually want to go and buy something. When they annoy me though, like the gocompare adverts, I won't use them out of principle.

Re: What are your best and worse TV ads?

I went to the cinema this afternoon to see Midway and saw this. I normally try and time it just right so I get to the cinema 10 minutes late so I miss the adverts but I am just in time for the trailers. I made a point of getting there on time today because I needed some lunch as well and I caught this. I loved it:

I thought when she went all the way in to the bag (except her lower legs and feet) showed it to be for comic effect, not reality...

It's just an advert, done for comedic effect. In reality, each food vendor would deliver their own food separately.

good to know, I was genuinely under the impression that you could order a pizza from dominos, burger from burger king etc and something different for all the family and they would bring it all at the same time for you. I hope there is some dodgy small print somewhere explaining that otherwise I am going to ringing the ASA ;)

An advert featuring a woman diving into a Deliveroo delivery bag to retrieve multiple food orders has been banned.

The Advertising Standards Authority said it might mislead viewers to think they "could order food from different restaurants to be delivered together".

It's a crap irritating advert and the woman annoys me. Wasn't bothered about Deliveroo's claims, it's a service I never and will never use on account of their cyclists are psychotic maniacs !
