Re: Football talk
let me be the first to congratulate Arsenal on winning this years' title - after their last few performances Man United deserve to lose their crown miserably. Pathetic results from a team who have specialised in pathetic finishing recently. Fergie has no-one but himself to blame for not bringing in some quality defenders and a proven back-up for RVN. Saha has yet (I stress the word 'yet') to prove himself consistant.
It kills me to say it but at the moment, Arse would simply wipe the floor with United  |
Re: Football talk
As I'm not the Christian type like Russ I can't bring myself to say anything good about the Gooners, however I agree that they have probably won the title this year :erm:

our defence is inept without rio.......wes brown is a liability ole is still rusty......a few more games at least till hes back on song giggsy needs a rest.......we also need a back-up for him and becks.........fergie needed a slap for selling him things can only get better.......... |

I reckon this seasons the beggining of the end for manu :)

no i still believe we have a chance, until its mathematically over..... we just need some defenders!!!!! |

Re: Football talk
Yeah but truth is, that if you can't pay above Chelsea then you ain't getting the footballers, and if you ain't getting the footballers, you ain't strengthening the team and believe me that what Man Utd really needs at the moment. Someone in the middle and back is needed that can command and lead the way.
And who above you right now ? Chelsea (and Arsenal).... I'll rest my case :smokin:  |
Re: Football talk

I would not want to be in Chelsea's position, yes they can buy any player that they want, but they are in a worse financial position than they were last year, they are losing so much money. If Abramovich gets bored and pulls out the're in the ****. Look at Joe Cole, pay 6.6 mill for him, pay him tens of thousand a week, and he hasn't even played a full 90 minutes. Quote:
I had hoped that Djemba-Djemba could be groomed to fill this role, but unfortunately his time spent caring for his sick mother means he hasn't been able to play a large number of games. |

Interesting words from Gullit, and I think I am inclined to agree with him.
Shearer seems to think its all about him and not the team he plays for, maybe its just as well he snubbed man utd. |
Re: Football talk

naaaah prolly not |

Wembley, Wembley, We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wembley. HHHMMMM it just doesn't have the same ring when you replace Wembley with Millennium Stadium. |

Re: Football talk
Is the Chelsea match on live, I have scoured Digiguide and all other sources, I know I will be watching the Reds but I like to flick over to check on how the other UK teams are doing, all I can see is a highlights programme later.
Cancel that, found it on ITV2 :dunce: |

2017: Goal. Man Utd 1-0 Porto (agg 2-2)
Paul Scholes puts Man Utd level on aggregate, and ahead on the away goals rule, with a trademark nearpost header after excellent work from John O'Shea. keep it up boys.....a nice start |

Paul Scholes puts the ball in the net for what should have been his second of the night but the 'goal' is controversially disallowed - even though the England man is clearly onside grrrrrrrrrr |

Re: Football talk
OSG ? I am SO SURE that it is OGS :D
Beckham came on as a Sub against Real and scored quite quickly from a free kick and I think he was genuinely upset he didn't start the game cos of Fergie pig headness - it may have turned out differently..... now if my team got rid of Houllier and nab Martin O'Neill...... |

Looked a useful player before he got that boot-shaped head injury. |
