Didn't score any last night though, despite having most of the play, certainly in the first half.

Add more to his game, he scores goals, surely that's what he was bought for, not his tracking back or ability to spray 40 yard passes about. As for his attitude, well if the story's are true, it's a pretty poor professional that has attitude problems imo

It happens.

It seems Fergie just didn't want a goalscorer. We will have to see at the end of this season if he was correct.

There was also the rumour of a bust up between Ronaldo and RVN.

I really do hope that he is right, also that any transfer window buys don't destabilise the team

think most of it was RVNs attitude which i think we all know at times isn't great and as gazzae said he did have an arguement with Ronaldo who is more one of the future than RVN

just a shame we never bought another striker and with Rossi out on loan who else do we have ?

seems so strange that we spent 16m on Carrick and then had over 20m for Hargreaves but we didn't even put in a bid of Tevez or Torres

I have got a feeling that Tevez has an even worse attitude than RVN, why can't you buy Torres and Hargreaves, you are about 8 or 9 million up on transfers this season!

Wasn't it supposed to be your year again.

Im not a Liverpool "fan" so to speak, i like to watch Liverpool. You see unlike almost all Man U "fans" i don't claim to be a proper fan just because i watch a few games on the telly or make the occasional game because a friend got them a ticket.

I would prefer to see Liverpool win over any other premiership side, but mostly, more than anything, i love to see Man U get beaten by anybody.

You could say im a true "anti-Man U" fan!

Hence the chat about the fact that you've only played one decent side this year and lost (Arsenal) yet you seem to think, as usual, your better than you are. (Makes the fall from grace all the sweeter though - reminds me of England)

Liverpool in the league are not playing well i admit, but don't really care all that much as im a Falkirk fan and the Premiership is just a wee bit on the side so to speak.

So - Mon the Chelsea!

So you can only call yourself a fan if you go to every game?

I'm not a Man U fan at all (I'm Spurs, although I have to admit I've been to Craven Cottage more int he past year than I have WHL.. :erm: ), but I really don't know how you can say -

Ummm, Man U are top of the league, three points & better GD than the current champions.... Also, if Arsenal are the only decent side in the premiership (which also doesn't really make an ounce of sense, with half the positive GD and 12 points less than Man U...), why aren't they winning it?

Man U have won the most games, lost the least (along with Villa - 1 each. which is less than Arsenal too.... ), how can they be thinking they are better than they are? Currently, they are the best?

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

i'd have to say being a realist I don't think we will win the league this season.. sure we are top of the pile at the moment but I just can't see it staying that way.. we have a very small squad of about 13 players and some of them are over 30 and can't perform every game..

sure we have Rooney but he won't get 20 goals a season.. and Saha is overrated.. apart from that we don't have any other strikers.. our fringe players just aren't good enough witness the Southend and Copenhagen results.. plus we lost to Celtic who have players from the Championship there :Yikes:

we have a false sense of security which will lead to us not strengthening in Jan and slipping further behind

we struugled again Watford and Reading and lost to Southend, Celtic and Copenhagen.

We've played 2 top sides.. Arsenal and lost and Liverpool who can't hit the backside of a cow with a banjo away from home

I am getting this strange sense of deja-vou, anyone but England anyone but Man Utd, good to see you using it for something constructive this time though ;)

Why not?

He had a slow start to the season but his goals per game is at 0.70 (better than Drogba's - 0.62, Kanu - 0.62, Bent - 0.46) if he keeps that up it equates to 26 goals.

i see Rooney more as a scorer of great goals than a great goal scorer.. too much of his play is done outsite the box for him to get that many goals.. for corners adn free kicks he doesn't even stand in the box !!

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

Heading isn't exactly his strong point. In his entire premiership career he has scored 1 (one) headed goal.

And Bolton, who at the time were in 3rd position in the league, unbeaten at home and had not conceded a goal. Portsmouth who were in 4th position at the time. Oh yes and Liverpool . :p:
