It does say VM released it in DEC 2010 which i guess would make strategic sense, enabling people to get one and record all the repeats over christmas :)

Catchup services were in their infancy back then and i don't think all the terrestrial channels had them?

Then in early 2011, selected customers were given a Tivo to trial, before the official release later in 2011 (April?). And initially, after the official release, only existing VM customers could get one. New customers signing up had to wait a while for a Tivo.
