Boxnation should be paying me commission.

Maybe the question mark should be dropped from the name of the thread to make it more relevant? Or maybe the thread should be moved to the sports section?

what was backwards about Well done ?

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Well Ricky Hatton is set to face former WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko. On paper the 35 year old Ukrainian boasts an impressive record of 33 fights, 32 wins and only 1 defeat. The 1 defeat however was in his last fight, by way of knockout of to the feather fisted Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi was a big step up in class for Senchenko. Senchenko failed the test. A fit and hungry Hatton will toy with this guy for 8 to 10 rounds before stopping him. A very easy nights work for Hatton.

Apparently representatives from Primetime where present today however people spotted Ricky shooting promo work with SKY. Looks like Boxnation is out of the picture. I wonder if we will see SKY bringing back PPV boxing for this event? I certainly hope not!

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Checking the Boxnation Facebook page earier today and noticed 2 things that suggests they might just be in the running for the Ricky Hatton fight afterall.

Firstly on Friday they added a poll to their Facebook page asking people to vote on the outcome of the Hatton fight. Boxnation only ever tend to poll fights that are being broadcast on their channel.

Secondly they where asked if they where showing the Hatton fight to which Boxnation replied:

"We don't know the answer to this yet Martin, but when we do we'll holler!"

Not the kind of answer you'd give if you where not in the running to broadcast the event.

they tend to give that reply to anything they dont have chad but the poll is a possible sign they have possibly done a deal already or are trying to get it

Oh I see. Fingers crossed then!

Confirmed for this Saturday is Zaurbek Baysangurov vs Lukas Konecny for the WBO World Light-Middleweight Championship.

The card on the 20th October is beginning to look epic!

Danny Garcia Vs. Erik Morales - WBC & WBC welterweight titles

Paul Malignaggi Vs. Pablo Cesar Cano - WBA World welterweight title

Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam Vs. Peter Quillin - WBO middleweight title

Devon Alexander Vs. Randall Bailey - IBF welterweight title

Plus Daniel Jacobs, Dmirti Salita and Luis Collazo on the undercard too.

There is a lot of noise for Katsidis however after Hatton was stopped by Mayweather he came back against Juan Lazcano who was 33 and past his best. I think coming back after 3 years out against Katsidis is a risk. I'd be happier to see him in with guys like Kendall Holt, Jan Zaveck or Nate Campbell. Truthfully I think he'll announce someone that catches everyone off guard.

I hope he confirms his TV deal too.

never mind box nation.. wats premier sports channel like?

It doesn't look good for Virgin customers wanting Premier Sports. The channel has been up and running now for 2 years and still no sign of it. Talks took place about 8 months ago but broke down. To the best of my knowledge nothing has happened since.

Looks like the closest us Virgin customers will get to the channel is the Premier Sports official stream:

Yeah saw that earlier this morning. People who have bought tickets will get a refund. Might be bad news for people who have already booked hotels and train tickets:(

Other fights on the card have been moved about. Junior Witter Vs. Frankie Gavin will now take place on 01st November 2012. Ovill McKenzie Vs. Enzo Maccarinelli is now scheduled for 09th November 2012 in Liverpool. Paul Smith has also been added to the Liverpool show.

It's a great move for Nathan Cleverley to feature on a Showtime Goldenboy card. If Nathan can come through this, looking impressive, a fight with Bernard Hopkins would become very easy to make. It also means we'll get to see bantamweight Abner Mares Vs. Anselmo Moreno.

Here is the latest schedule for Boxnation. Not all shows have officially confirmed yet:

06th October 2012: Zaurbek Baysangurov vs Lukas Konecny

13th October 2012: David Price vs Audley Harrison

20th October 2012: Danny Garcia vs Erik Morales, Paulie Malignaggi vs Pablo Cesar Cano, Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam vs Paul Quillin, Devon Alexander Vs. Randall Bailey

27th October 2012: Denis Lebedev vs Guillermo Jones

01st November 2012: Junior Witter vs Frankie Gavin

03rd November 2012: Marco Huck vs Firat Arslan

09th November 2012: Ovill McKenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli

10th November 2012: Abner Mares vs Anselmo Moreno, Nathan Cleverley Vs. TBA

30th November 2012: Freddie Flintoff vs TBA

08th December 2012: Brian Magee Vs. Mikkel Kessler

15th December 2012: Ricky Burns vs TBA, George Groves Vs. TBA

15th December 2012: Arthur Abraham vs TBA

There are plenty of great shows coming up in the next few months but they are being promoted by either Top Rank or Gary Shaw. Would be great if Boxnation could snap up a proper long term deal with either promoter, similar to the Goldenboy deal.

Thanks for the update Chad, Freddie sounds a bit of a crazy move at his age to start up a professional boxing career!

It sure is. There has been a lot on negative publicity however I feel if it's something he really wants to do, let him do it. I can't see it being a long career, 1 fight and he'll probably retire.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?

Here is an interesting article on Ricky Hattons potential future TV deal:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box....html?ITO=1490

The Daily Mail seem to suggest that Frank Warren, via Boxnation, are the most likely candidates to show the fight. The Daily Mail however then go on to make the following suggestion:

"The mould could be broken wide open for Hatton if Showtime, believed to have made the largest US bid for the fight thus far, were to beam their signal into the UK via trans-Atlantic satellite. A deal of convenience with ESPN would give them access to that network’s existing broadcast channel here."

Hattons return on ESPN, that would be great for XL customers! Seems unlikely but could happen.
