I'm sure Denphone is ecstatic given Plymouth's unexpected win over Liverpool. There's a few bits of good news out there if you look carefully.

I suspect there may have been a few mixed feelings over that one, a bit like my thoughts on Starmers record so far.

Starmer runs away from farmers

Keir Starmer runs scared as he abandons visit due to furious farmers' protest
Sir Keir Starmer has abandoned a visit to Buckinghamshire due to a noisy tractor protest

What a gutless wonder this man is

If they are liable for arrest then he's done the right thing. If however it's a peaceful protest then like those experienced by King Charles his entourage should block, shield him from said protest.

The Tory leader demands answers on two scandals only for Keir Starmer to point out that both had occurred under the previous government…

… The killer, self-administered blow concerned this week’s controversial court ruling that a Palestinian family of six from Gaza have been granted the right to remain in the UK under the Ukraine family scheme, which was most certainly not designed for this purpose. This as far as Badenoch was concerned, was a disgrace. “Is the government planning to appeal?” she asked.

Where she’d gone just ever so slightly wrong is that Sir Keir Starmer and the rest of the government also think it’s a disgrace, and they have made their views clear in every newspaper article on the court ruling…

… “She’s right,” he said. “It’s the wrong decision. But she hasn’t done her homework. The decision in question was taken under the last government, in accordance with the legal framework of the last government.”…

… With her final flourish, Badenoch brought up the case of John Tuckett, the government’s preferred candidate for a new role of chief inspector of borders, but who, she said, “Lives in Finland and wants to work from home. This is not serious.”

Starmer rose again. Human rights lawyers aren’t a natural fit for acts of wanton cruelty but what choice did he have?

“The individual in question was appointed in 2019 by the last government to a senior position,” he said. “He then worked for five years from Finland. We’ve changed that and he will now be working from the UK full time.”

Rachael from the Halifax updates her cv again

The latest edit is the second by the Chancellor since entering government last year. She previously admitted to working in Halifax's customer relations department, not the retail banking unit as she initially claimed.

The article also refers to her expenses whilst at HBOS.
Quote:

The internal audit team found evidence of wrongdoing by Ms Reeves and her two colleagues, it is claimed, before passing the findings to the risk department in April 2009.
However, the next interview stage did not take place, nor is there evidence it reached a conclusion.
The top Labour MP left the bank in May 2009 and there is no suggestion her departure was linked to the investigation.
Her team pointed out she was allowed to keep her company car for six months afterwards, suggesting she departed on “good terms” with a “severance payment, including full notice pay and a bonus”.

Well she has just mislaid £22,000,000,000 which she claims fell into a black hole, so I'm not surprised she's not too good with finances, she's bloody good at creative writing thou

The jury's out on the latter, there were accusations of plagiarism about the book she wrote!;)

1970s sitcoms are the answer Maggie. Whatever you do, avoid the news channels....
