You would have thought a no-win, no-fee legal firm would have jumped at the opportunity to take on a strong case in the public eye.

Well it's like the fact that Wootton and GB News thought Schofield and Edwards weren't entitled to due process but he is. Rules are different for them.

Some of you people are real …..s. Schofield, Edwards, Harry/Meghan are stories well dragged out everywhere, including by Wootton. The stories get dragged out here too.

Wootton seems now to be a story and that’ll get dragged out elsewhere if the media so desire.

Big deal, Wootton has become a story - more fun.

Pierre and fellow GB News viewers! This much maligned millionaire needs your vital support so he's not cancelled by the hard left. He's raised £37,886 of £150,000. Can you please help get him up to the full £150K?

If every GB News viewer gave just £10,000 we would reach this important target by Tuesday. :D

In totally unrelated news, Dan Wootton is no longer represented by Mishcon de Reya, based in London (1300 employees, including 220 Partners/Legal Directors, 630 lawyers) - the law firm that is now acting for him is Griffin Law (16 employees, including 9 lawyers (+ 1 Legal Exec & 1 Trainee Solicitor)), based in West Malling, Kent.

No. Never watched Dan Wooton and know very little about him.

Looks like you know more about him than me, so you contribute.

I wonder what made Laurence Fox, the GB News presenter, think this was a good idea to post on Twitter.

Interesting to discover what his sister, Lydia Fox (who is married to Richard Ayoade, and they have three children) thinks of this jape?

Probably not, I can see the point he’s making.

Do you think he should be able to make that point.

What troubles you? The issue itself? The way the point is being made? The person making it? That he works 1hr a week for a news channel? That he has freedom to make such a point? That his sister is married to a non-white man? ?? Are you proposing a racial motive?

We’re you as concerned when Gary St Lineker made his political points…I didn’t see a post, so probably not.

Oh there's a point, thought he was just attention seeking

Well he’s trying to make point about the trans issue, but it’s not funny, he’s being deliberately provocative, and he does come across as an attention seeking fool, as he needs to get the Twitter/X clicks.

All that said, he’s entitled to do it.

Re: GB News / Talk TV

Not a hard decision really - two Conservative MPs interviewing their own chancellor about the mini budget can hardly be considered impartial!
Quote:

An Ofcom investigation has today concluded that an episode of Saturday Morning with Esther and Phil, which aired on GB News on 11 March 2023, breached due impartiality rules.

Our decision
Given this programme featured two sitting MP presenters from one political party interviewing the Chancellor of the same political party about a matter of major political controversy and current public policy, we consider, in these circumstances, that GB News should have taken additional steps to ensure that due impartiality was preserved.

Our investigation therefore concluded that GB News failed to represent and give due weight to an appropriately wide range of significant views on a matter of major political controversy and current public policy within this programme, in breach of Rules 5.11 and 5.12.

Having carefully considered the programme’s content and format, our investigation determined that there were three clearly separate and standalone news bulletins presented by a news anchor. The content presented on this day by Ms McVey and Mr Davies constituted current affairs. We therefore considered that Rule 5.3 of the Code, which relates to politicians presenting news programmes, was not engaged in this particular case.

This is the third breach of our broadcasting rules recorded against GB News since it launched in June 2021.

We have six further investigations open into the channel’s compliance with our due impartiality rules. We are working to conclude these investigations as swiftly as possible in accordance with our published procedures.

We also have two open investigations into other channels’ compliance with our due impartiality rules (Talk TV and Greatest Hits Radio).
