Another attempt to bring Irish programming to the UK is to be made.

Sky and RTE have just renewed their carriage agreement- the interesting bit for us is that they want to bring some Irish stations to the UK.

For rights reasons, I expect this to mean something along the lines of Tara TV as opposed to simulcasting RTE1 etc.

I would expect VM to pick up this channel if it were made available to them.

Well In September 2013, RTÉ did announced plans to launch the channel in the United Kingdom under the working title of RTÉ Ireland, as part of their five year strategic plan.

Yes it a shame I though this had legs and is a good USP in acquiring niche channel content but alas no good deals to be done/still in the pipeline

The text of that article strongly suggests that they are indeed talking about 'YourTV'.

Yes, more likely to watch some programming from that channel than 'Your TV'! Assuming, that is, that we get some of their peak time viewing and not just the daytime TV reality shows!

Agreed! We need more good apps to be added to our Tivos. This should now be a priority for VM given the major change of pace (to dead slow) in respect of new TV channels.

I dont think the current Tivo can cope with the apps it already has. It is tempermental to say the least sluggish and buggy.

However with rumors of a new Tivo coming soon maybe that will iron out the bugs, I hope it does I like the Tivo but not its slugginess and lock ups.

I hope History HD arrives soon for Ice Road truckers. As lets be honest it no longer shows History programmes.

Talking about World Box whatever happened to:

-EuroChannel
-BFM TV
-Ukraine Today
-CTC

Virgin Media says months ago that they was set to launch "At end of month".

But our TiVo source told us yesterday they are still to start.

Yes hopefully we will hear something soon about a new TiVo dodgem as there have been widespread rumours for a while about it.

How much was it to upgrade to the current Tivo when it came out?

£150 seems to ring a bell.
