2G (GPRS) internet link. Barely makes dial-up speed when it's in a good mood. Too slow to get the "verified by Visa" page up before it times out "Unauthorised" so our VM account is now suspended 'cos I can't pay the bill :( Should have done it at the bank earlier in the week but didn't think I needed to.

At least my backup email addy at virgin.net is not linked to the main VM account so it motors on and I can still send out mail as well.

Just curious, and you can tell me to mind my own business, but why do people still not make their payments via DD?

Well some have no access to a bank account and thus cannot set up DD's.

If you have a regular income of a known amount then I agree but I cannot guarantee the money will be in the account when VM would like to take it. Though it costs a bit extra to pay directly it's much cheaper than a defaulted DD and an angsty letter from VM. They bill me on the 2nd of the month and I have until the 1st of the next month to pay them.

What you should do is get up and walk.
that'll really shock em.

Never though of that, sorry.

My moan is a small one. I went to Sainsbury's to get something I forgot yesterday, and found a patch of ice which sent me skidding for a few yards into a parked car. Luckily, there was no damage to the car. Or me, apart from the pride of course.

Could be worse and to be told you aren't. Having something visual such as a wheelchair does seem to tick the boxes fortunately (or unfortunately). - Where can I get one from, lol.

Besides, who gives a toss what other people think or say anyway. :)

Hey, at least they notice the wheelchair which was more than they did with your stick. When I was stuck in a wheelchair for a while I got really fed up with people only talking to whoever was with me. I 'accidentally' ran over quite a few toes, I guess it didn't change people's bad manners but it was very satisfying. :D

oddly I've got three now for some reason :)

As Jo said to I had a white stick before and no one seemed to notice that.

Still I don't plan to be in the chair forever so it'll be interesting to see how people change when I'm out of it again.

Give me Calamity Jane, I loved that one and The Glen Miller Story was on the other day, that was so sad, tears were running down my face,

Yeah, my nan says she can't watch the end of the Glenn Miller film as it makes her cry. One of the biggest mysteries, what happened to his plane. Hopefully at some point in the future it will be discovered.
