Also we have a similar chant but more catchy. |

The best....er i mean worst one is about Madeleine Mccan. When i went to a united v arsenal match a few seasons ago there were a few chants directed at him, which are similar to the one in the article. I don't know if bringing attention to them is going to stop it though. |
Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
It should be stopped. As people mentioned the Munich disaster is a awful thing to chant about and I would be ashamed if the supporters around me at a game started doing so. Same with the hillsborough disaster.
Obviously the Arsenal one isn't real but still not a nice thing to chant about. ---------- Post added at 13:47 ---------- Previous post was at 13:23 ---------- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...Liverpool.html Quote:

The community seems to be split into several groups. 1. You get the hardcore contingent who will say/do anything and don't care what people people think. (Chants: Hissing at Spurs fans, anything with the c-word). 2. You get the middle contingent who aren't bad people but don't want football becoming, for the want of a better term, 'politically correct'. (Chants: Arsene Wenger/referee/Ji-Sung Park etc.) 3. You get the last group who just want a wholesome family environment to bring their kids. Most if not all football teams will have a mix of the 3. Its difficult doing anything about it because the first group will only stopped when they've been banned (and that's not easy). The middle group is the vast majority of supporters and really what keeps clubs going. If you outlawed any colourful chanting (like #2) then you wouldn't fill stadiums. |

I agree it should be stopped, but there's a huge difference between singing about people dieing (Munich, Hillsbrough) and singing about someone being a peado. With the Benitez thing, i was reading this (link) article and thought this comment from one of the readers was excellent Quote:

Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
have been at the Man U v Liverpool and City games I do wonder if some fans even bother watching the game. Some spend so much time shouting at the other fans with a single voice who are 90 yards away they don't even know what is happening on the pitch.

This is one that got away from the press, Berbatov has even managed to get in on the family shot: http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/200...hrek/shrek.jpg When asked about the choice of name for baby roon, it was disclosed that the family have a Kia. When it was pointed out that Kia is not Kai Colleen said " That's the point, we wanted a unique name for our baby " ---------- Post added at 09:34 ---------- Previous post was at 09:31 ---------- Quote:
Aye, and some who should know better are spitting their dummy out at the fourth official ;) |
Re: Football : Season 2009/2010
They used to chant the Paedo thing years back, before he had a young team, Henry, Pires n all.
They printed mugshots of a bunch of them in a paper, I heard he looked like one of them? I dunno, that's what the guy that used to sit behind me at OT said. |
