as aircraft engineer have worked on many aircraft mainly military over the last 20 years but before that on civil aircraft

lots of technology has been passed down to other disclipines like vehicles and even broadband

Been fantastic with working on the line seeing in and seeing off aircraft

But is not the best job in the winter remember working on the line with three pairs of gloves three coats and it was snowing so not always the best

appreciated a nice warm hangar

Seen the legs being refurbished and the brake sets look quite complicated

worked on secondment at a company that specialized in c-130

to be honest best thing is watching them on the pan maneuvering

For a big aircraft excellent

Quite a day for planes, first the A319 that blew the covers off both engines and landed safetly with smoke pouring from the starboard engine and now this unexpected diversion.

:(

Someone's probably going to get their wrists slapped... Rumours on PPrune have it that the engine cowl latches may not have been shut on the A319 that had the emergency landing at Heathrow today

lets hope the engines are to badly damaged as they cost roughly $5,000,000 each.

I don't think you even need a rumour mill to establish this was a maintenance failing - both cowls came loose within minutes of take off, the odds against that occurring as a result of mechanical failure must be vast.

Air accident experts said the coverings - the fan cowl doors - separated and punctured the right engine's fuel pipe, damaging the aircraft's systems.
A fire then broke out in the right engine of the Airbus A319 on the British Airways flight to Oslo.
A ruptured fuel line ... this incident could have been a whole lot worse. :erm:
