Re: Rate the last movie you saw
2001 : A Space Odyssey (nuff said really, one of the all time classics - OK 9/10 - not perfect)
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Just watched Airplane again. The part where Leslie Neilson walks into the cockpit and the stewardess is blowing up the inflatable pilot and it looks suspicious really makes me laugh.
One of the best spoof films I've seen. |

No one seems to have mentioned this yet.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 7/10 A definite improvement on recent Marvel Films. |
I last saw REAL GENIUIS (1985) on VHS :)
10/10 |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Lady Chatterley's Lover (2022). 6/10 Some interesting scenes (!) , but the actual story is a bit dull. DH Lawrence was the Sunday Sport of his day.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - 7.5/10.
Way better than I expected, funny in places, exciting in places, plenty of action and entertainment. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Robots 6/10 Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall. Rom Com which is tbh my fave genre so enjoyed it
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Re watched Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan last night.
It has to be a solid 7 out of 10 from me. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
John Wick 4 - 8/10.
Like the previous John Wick Films, only much more mayhem and violence. |

Mission Impossible 7 - 7/10.
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
The Flash 6/10 I couldn't deal with the crap Ezra Miller brought to it with his troubles off screen so never liked the character.
The best scenes for me were Michael Keaton as Batman, that was awesome and the only reason I stuck with it until the end. |
I just watched THE EDGE (1997)
It was ok......... |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 8/10
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
The Meg 8/10.
My plan was to watch Meg 2 now but I couldn't get a good version using BeeTV so I'll have to wait, then decided to watch John Wick 4 until I realised it was nearly 3hrs long so would rather start that earlier in the evening. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Rebel Moon. After reading the reviews I was apprehensive to watch as I wanted it to be a good film. It was better than good. 8.5/10.
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Rebel Moon 6/10, Ok, but not as good as I had hoped from the trailer.
Aquaman 2 (Lost Kingdom) 6/10, DC just dont seem to make superhero films as well as some others. This was ok I guess, plenty of action in places, loads of SFX, but somehow it still just did not "wow" me. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Rebel Moon 4/10
It was like a first year film student who had seen Seven Samurai, Star Wars, Battle Beyond the Stars, and Dune had been given an unlimited SFX budget, but no money for script writers, and then they ignored any advice on how to improve the clunky dialogue. Some good battle scenes. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
We had a few hours to spare at the Premier Inn during our 9 day stay so watched Hondo, 8/10 and Midway 9/10.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Tripe, and I can watch and sometimes very much enjoy tripe.
But this was just terrible, made the first Aquaman look like Citizen Kane. |

Napoleon (2023) 5/10
Didn't know Napoleon had an American accent, interesting that. 'Carry on Don't Lose Your Head' was more historically accurate. |
I last watched BIG (1988) on VHS :)
8/10 |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Road House the new one and it really was not that bad 7/10
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw

Plenty of action, if you like the current Godzilla/Kong movies (and TV) then you'll like this. |
I last saw MELTDOWN (2000/2001) onn VHS....
-5/10 What a piece of garbage..... It wasnt english,it was dubbed with english lyrics....... Such a shame after that excellent 2000 movie ROMEO MUST DIE from Jet LI!! Also the 2002 movie he did THE ONE is stupid....That one is english but its just dumb!! I would say Jet LIs best movie is ROMEO MUST DIE!! (9/10) |

Once upon a time in China(1991), Cradle 2 the Grave(2003) and Kiss of the Dragon(2001) are also very good Jet Li films. By lyrics do you mean subtitles? Or dubbed English language voices? |
Ya dubbed eng language voices.......
Thanx Stevie ill look for those! |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Civil War
(2024) Quality Alex garland piece on photo journalists in a civil war situation in the USA. A must in IMAX... Picture and sound were top notch. Great performances from all the cast 5/5 |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Vortex. This is an especially powerful and haunting film. 7/10
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Civil War 6/10.
After a promising start it stalled for a while, then got going again. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Hidden..., a few years old now.
I rented it on Prime after being tipped about it. I'd never heard of it. Family survive in Fall out shelter after deadly virus outbreak. That's all I'm going to say. Stick with it. It's worth it. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
In recent weeks have seen “IF”, Despicable Me 4 & Inside Out 2 (There’s a theme there).
All very decent. IF’s mission is to make you cry. DM4 - more minions and a great ensemble ending. IO2 - great fun if you have a pubescent teen you can rip the piss out of during or after you’ve watched it. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Watched Despicable Me 4 the other week, great fun, 8/10.
Watched Deadpool & Wolverine last weekend, also great fun, 8.5/10. |
Hey Paul, thank you for your entry mate!
I last saw GETTING EVEN WITH DAD (1994) on VHS :) |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Deadpool and Wolverine last week 9/10 just fantastic
Purple Rain in 4K. 7/10 great movie even if the acting isn't great and oh my that soundtrack. Bliss |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Deadpool and Wolverine (IMAX). An good 8 but I missed out on a lot of the dialogue. Will watch it again at home with subs, and no doubt it'll be a lot better still.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Margin Call 8/10.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Alien: Romulus 8/10.
If you like the original films, you'll like this. |
Thank you Paul for your entry :)
I last saw THE KARATE KID (1984) on VHS.. I dont really like fighting movies...... There is too much bloody fighting in the world........ I give it a 5/10 rating...... |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
It's not really a 'fighting' movie. There is a really important and moral story there, that and it's just an all out classic.
Driven - 6/10 Movie about John Delorean and his downfall. |
Ya I suppose your right Stevie!!
It Is indeed (Early 80s) |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Nearest and Dearest (1972). 6/10. A nailbiter about a pickle factory in Colne fighting for survival.... They certainly don't make them like this anylonger :)

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
A Complete Unknown - 7/10
Enjoyable, very good music, not a hagiography - it shows Dylan’s early career, and isn’t afraid to point his faults. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Captain America: Brave New World - 5/10.
Average at best, bits of good action in places. A couple of nice cameos. It seemed disjointed and predictable in places and just unrealistic(!) in parts (Japans reaction at sea, if you've seen it). |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
We watched "Cast a Giant Shadow" about the founding of the state of Israel. It's on Prime and worth two hours.
|
I just watched Explorers (1985) on VHS :)
7/10 I guess..... |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
We watched a Christian film, Play the Flute (on Prime). A fair film with a good message but more relevant to Christians than generally.
|
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Grosse Point Blanke - 8/10
Rewatched this tonight on ITVX - forgotten how much fun it was, and the outstanding soundtrack. Next - High Fidelity (John Cusack made some very enjoyable films - I’ll be watching Say Anything and Con Air after that). |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Civil War - 8/10
A very intense film - will definitely be going to see Warfare when it comes out. |
Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Superman - 7.5/10

Obviously there is the fuel cost to drive there and back (about 25 miles in total, so roughly £3). My limitless card works out at around £9 per film, plus the cost of some goodies to eat. Not sure what you class as expensive but about £15 to watch on a huge screen, with super (usually atmos) sound is well worth it to me. As to the film in question, its only came out this week, its expected on HBO Max at around the end of September. . |
