So not only do they take out a spurs player, they don't put the ball out of play so they can receive treatment.

Arsenal are not gentlemen.

bring back Dein

or remove the current board and majority shareholder

tbh for Dein to be brought back PHW, Ivan and Stan would have to go.

OK let me dumb it right down to your level.

The job of managing one of the the biggest and most successful teams in the world is more likely to go to someone with experience at that particular level. Sentimentality and popularity does not come in to it.

Laudrup has not had success at the sort of level you would expect to be a candidate for that job.

Now if you still claim to not be able to get the point then you're either a wind-up merchant or your grasp of football really is non-existent.

It was a great result for us, it proves once again that Arsenal are a pathetic picture of what they used to be, they tried there offside trap twice and it didn't work and we scored two fantastic goals.

Wenger needs to bring in new faces at The Emirates, Walcott is not the player everyone thinks he is, Bale is out of this world, l just hope and pray that we will qualify for the CL, and that Levy digs into his pocket and signs Bale on a long term contract worth a lot of money.

Bale is a great player and l personally don't think he will go abroad, he prefers his beloved Wales too much.

Arsenal WE are now Londons top team.

It's very hard to build a stadium especially if you're already in a lot of debt. How are the expansion plans going?

Apparently it remains on course but the sooner it happens the better as having a capacity of 44,000 these days is pitiful compared to the giants of Europe..

Quote:

#LFC 2012 results have been announced. Please note that they only cover 10 months up to 31 May 2012, as club has changed accounting date.

#LFC 2012 loss before tax £40.5m, an improvement on 2011 loss of £49.3m.

#LFC 2012 revenue £169.0m down from £183.6m, due to 10 months accounting period (impacts commercial, but not match day & media revenue).

Exceptional costs again hit #LFC 2012 accounts: £9.6m termination payments (mainly coaching staff) & £0.8m legal fees (UKSV acquisition). UK branch of Fenway Sports Group (the American owners).

Correcting transfer strategy also hurt #LFC 2012 a/c: loss on player sales £1.7m (2011 £43.3m profit) & write-down of player values £8.9m.

#LFC 2012 staff costs (excluding £9.6m exceptional charges) £109.2m for 10 months, which implies annual wage bill of around £131m.
Did wages include payoffs to overpaid players let go? Or were they separate?
Total staff costs £119m, but that included the £10m termination payments made to departing staff, so underlying wage bill £109m.

#LFC 2012 net debt up from £65.4m to £87.2m: £69.9m to bank & £22.2m to UKSV less £4.9m cash. In Aug UKSV put in £46.8m reducing bank debt.

#LFC 2012 revenue £169.0m (2011 £183.6m): match day £42.3m (2011 £40.9m), media £62.8m (2011 £65.3m), commercial £63.9m (2011 £77.4m).

Ignoring timing adjs, main moves in #LFC results: £45m fall in profit on player sales, £49m lower exceptional costs, £9m player write-downs.
What was players amortization cost for the whole period - only 9M?
Player amortisation £33.8m (2011 £36.3m). On top of that player write-downs (impairment) £8.9m.

This doesn't include the warrior deal or the chevrolet deals does it? Will they reduce the debt?
No, both deals only start from 2012-13 season. They will help, as will new Premier League TV deal.

Challenges are stadium expansion, European qualification (pref CL) and controlling wage bill. Oh, and stop sacking people!

re LFC, is it true to say that a lot of the debt is owed to the owners rather than external debt?
Not at time of accounts, but since then (Aug 12) owners have replaced much of bank debt with owner debt.

Not detailed in LFC accounts, but Swansea's accounts included £5m received as compensation, presumably for BR.

Net debt of £87.2m: £69.9m to bank & £22.2m to owners less £4.9m cash. In August owners put in £46.8m reducing bank debt.

I imagine Liverpool are more likely to thrown money at him than Arsenal are so that is probably true. That said I don't see Liverpool being able to do that anymore unless they sell Suarez. Liverpool's big spending is probably over now, but at least you have Downing, Henderson and Carroll to show for it. :D

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

The red card wasn't that outrageous a decision let's get some perspective here. It was certainly harsh but if you go in with your leg raised you're giving the ref a decision to make. I've seen those decisions given before so I think it's a bit disingenuous for everyone to act like it's a massive shock rather that simply a harsh decision.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

its dangerous but common sense normally comes into play when you see a player doesnt have eyes on the other player and rather the ball. a yellow is normally then issued, 1 more foul after that and youre off.

Yeah I agree. I don't think it was a red but just pointing out that it isn't that outlandish a decision, the kind you often see and aren't surprised by. Especially when the ref doesn't have the benefit of a replay and just sees a player goes in with a high leg and both players hit the floor.

agree here. Nani didn't even know the other player was there. Also in slow motion i'm not sure why the player had to roll over 15 times and hold onto part of his body that wasn't even touched.

We were just as bad with Rafael screaming in pain when a defender touched his arms

At least UEFA made millions out of the game so no reason to look into into the small cheating that was going on

the refs sent Nani off for a dangerous challenge but its unintentional. the ref had a good view, the last replay view from behind the goal ITV showed shows the line of view the ref roughly had plus if you see the live direct view theres hardly any players in and around the view the ref had. did the ref ask the 4th official who had the reverse view to his position

Aston Villa cut losses to £17.7m

http://www.insidermedia.com/insider/...ts-losses-177m

Quote:

Detailed #AVFC 2012 results have been published: a loss after tax of £17.7m, which is a £36.2m improvement on 2011 loss of £53.9m.

Main reasons for reduced #AVFC loss: interest waived on Lerner loan £20.3m and lower player costs £20.5m (wages £13.8m, amortisation £6.7m).

Other reasons for smaller #AVFC loss: higher profit on player sales £8.1m, lower termination payments for management changes £6.1m.

On the other hand, #AVFC 2012 revenue fell £11.7m and other expenses rose £6.3m.

#AVFC 2012 revenue £80.4m (2011 £92.0m): match day £19.9m (2011 £21.4m), media £46.8m (2011 £53.9m), commercial £13.7m (2011 £16.9m).

#AVFC wage bill cut from £83.4m to £69.6m, reducing the wages to turnover ratio from 91% to 87%.

Termination payments to managers have once again hit #AVFC 2012 accounts with a £5.9m exceptional charge (£12.0m in 2011).

#AVFC 2012 profit on player sales £26.9m (2011 £18.8m), largely due to Stewart Downing to Liverpool and Ashley Young to Manchester United.

Excluding profit on player sales of £26.9m and interest waiver of £20.3m, the #AVFC 2012 loss would have been a hefty £64.9m.

In any case, #AVFC aggregate losses for last four seasons amount to a massive £155m.

#AVFC 2012 net debt up from £113.7m to £121.5m: £107.1m to Lerner and £15.1m to bank less £0.7m cash.

Randy Lerner put £10m into #AVFC in 2012, so has now provided around £240m of funding, split between loans and capital injections.

#PSG reported small loss of €5.5m in 2012 after revenue rose by £121m (120%), including retroactive agreement with Qatar Tourist Authority.

Think this deal is the acid test for FFP. Actually not described as sponsorship, but "publicity campaign to promote image of Qatar".

#PSG 2012 revenue €222m (2011 €101m): match day €25m ('11 €18m), media €47m ('11 €45m), commercial €25m ('11 €21m), other €125m ('11 €17m).

#PSG 2012 wage bill increased by 69% from €70m to €117m (before adding Ibra, Thiago Silva, Lavezzi, Verratti & Beckham).

For detailed analysis of PSG's strategy, I wrote this last July http://swissramble.blogspot.ch/2012/...to-action.html They have indeed gone for a "mega sponsorship deal". Reported as €150m for this season, rising to €200m in 2015/16.

QPR's wage bill doubles - and that's even before the last two transfer windows are included in financial figures

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...l-figures.html
Quote:

#QPR 2012 results have been published: a loss before tax of £22.6m, which is a small improvement on 2011 loss of £25.4m

The impact of promotion to Premier League is clear in #QPR 2012 results with revenue rising from £16.2m to £64.0m.

Unfortunately #QPR do not analyse the £64m revenue, but we know they got £43.3m from Premier League TV deal, while gate receipts were £7.7m.

#QPR wage bill almost doubled from £29.7m to £58.5m, but wages to turnover ratio fell from 183% to 91%.

#QPR wage bill not outlandish compared to many other clubs in 2011/12, e.g. Everton £63m, Fulham £62m, Bolton £55m, Stoke £53m.

However, only Blackburn and Bolton had worse wages to turnover ratio than #QPR 91% in 2011/12 Premier League. For context, Man City was 87%.

It should be noted that the 2012 #QPR wage bill of £58.5m is before all the high-profile signings this summer and January.

Worryingly, the #QPR aggregate losses for the last four seasons amount to a sizeable £80m.

#QPR net debt is up from £56.1m to £88.9m (gross debt £90.5m less £1.6m cash).

All of #QPR debt is owed to the club’s owners and (in theory) repayable in instalments before 22 May 2014 or on demand

Owners put £39m funds into #QPR in 2012, so club has required £104m of funding in last 4 years, split between loans and capital injections.

#QPR fans will surely be hoping that the owners emulate Al Fayed at Fulham and Whelan at Wigan by converting debt into equity at some stage.
