As of December 12th 2024:

Here is the up to date list of space on Freeview being unused.

24 hours slots:
-Old Talk linear slot on SDN/COM4.
-Old Al Jazeera English slot on COM6.
-Old Seen on TV slot on COM6.
-Old Pop slot on Local Mux.
-Old Pop Max slot on Local Mux.
-Old Tiny Pop slot on Local Mux.

Part time slots:
-Together TV slot on SDN/COM4 not in Wales (6pm to Midnight only).
-U&Yesterday +1 slot on COM5 (5am to 7am).
-Create & Craft slot on COM5 (7am to 10pm).

NEW to list - Following may launch soon:
-Ayozat TV

Virgin Media EPG online listing has reveal That's TV 3 will NOT be coming back after Christmas

Virgin Media online listings says 'That's Golden Oldies' is set to broadcast from 8am - 3am then some Entertainment shows that are shown on That's TV 1 and That's TV 2.

Hot on the back of POP Linear channels closing on December 1st on Freeview

Narrative Entertainment has done more cutting this time with a axe of website for Great! channels but it takes you to Great! Player website.

Question, if In march 2026 (yes that's right), can I get a Freeview box that will work through Virgin Media Broadband?

You can also go after Freely - you just need to buy an new Telly.

Be aware that Freely currently only delivers the PSB channels in IP format (roughly the equivalent of a Freeview relay transmitter). To get the full Freeview channel availablility you still need to connect a Freely TV to a rooftop aerial pointed at a transmitter that carries the COM muxes. A Freely TV will work on any Broadband connection, so you could use one now. It's just a different type of SMART TV.

Freeview is Terrestrial. Freesat is satellite.

Ah, of course, never really had either myself, forgot there were the two 'free' versions.
I think we had the satellite in our bedroom once, years ago, for the wife, but she never really used it.
Never had freeview (would have needed a new aerial iirc).

Cruise1st TV has today launch on Virgin Media.

When I was watching early today Cruise1st TV's Derek Marks did say that the launch on Virgin Media is part of the channel expanding plans for 2025.

Do that mean????

*Launch on Freeview/Freely?
*Launch on Freesat?

NOTE to all: On January 8th 2025 I found out that Seen on TV slot on Freeview this now been use by Rewind TV UK. Up until then I did think that Rewind TV UK was using a brand new slot that was testing for the few weeks in August 2024 on COM6.
