Everything seems to be up and running my end. Why are they saying everything will be back monday? Seems everything is back already! Great news though. Classic Eastenders is on UKTV. Accompany that with classic coronation street on itv 3 and you have a wonderful combination of historic quality television. Much better than the dross both shows have these days

I wonder whether UKTV will show some catch ups for episodes missed for new TV series like Harrow. Episode 1 was recorded and episodes 2 and 3 were missed. Episode 4 is showing on Sunday but the Series Link has yet to decide to record it.

Anyone who got a discount for the loss of these channels are quids in. Or will there be another twist? Do they take the discount back.

Checks Maggy’s IP. Yep it’s an internet connection from..... Virgin Media Broadband... :dozey:

Paul, me and others are also on VM. But being on the team doesn’t necessitate the requirement to be a VM customer.

I don’t. :D

To be fair I did for some time, even after I moved off net, and I only left when they closed their off net ADSL service. If I moved back to a cabled area I’d rejoin in a flash. They’re worth it for the fast internet alone, quite apart from whatever TV they carry.

Good point Den. I assume the on demand/catch up tv stuff arrives on Monday? Haven't watched any of the channels which launched to replace the UKTV stuff. Saw Paramount tv is basically the gilmore girls tv and premier sports and free sports were .... well not particularly good.

A deal has obviously been agreed in the late hours of last night as l am struggling to find a news source mentioning it currently.

I don't think it will have been quite that late as the new channel guide showed details of BBC Worldwide and the channels had to be technically added back to the system after being removed a few days after being hidden from domestic VM users.

Well I can keep my recordings indefinitely now! It will be interesting what extra OD content there is as sometimes you find a show you haven't seen without necessarily having recorded it

Well VM took a big risk but by getting 5x times the on demand content plus GOLD HD and DAVE HD on Mix I think most people (including me who was seriously cosidering moving elsewhere) that VM have played this well.

It might show other broadcasters that VM are no pushover.

Yes, it's interesting that VM now appear to be adding pay HD channels to packs below Full House. AIUI, the HD channels higher up the packs get a share of the subscription money. UKTV appear to have put this secondary to making their HD channels available to more customers.

This is what Sky did when their channels came back for popular series that had already started. I'm not too worried about the eight series that I missed having gaps in them, it's not the sort of programming that has to be watched in chronological order and the V6 should pick up the missed episodes when they are repeated.
