I am not sure why your pingtest failed for packet loss though.

I was expecting the TBB to be awful looking for this very reason. I was more concerned with the large packet loss I could see (I couldn't only see about 3 pixels wide last night when I posted that) but it seems to have settled now. I can confirm that internet connectivity is solid, though. Not tried gaming yet but actual internet access is no issue.

As for the packet loss not working, it's likely because I've disabled Java and have no intention of enabling it any time soon :P

However, I can detect no packet loss from the usual means:

In service, there should be no post RS-errors and the rate of growth indicates the scaleof problem.

Yup, the post-RS errors haven't changed at all. Weirdly though, the pre-RS errors have gone up slightly. Is that significant in any way? I'm not actually sure what pre-RS errors are.

Apologies if this has been answered already folks ...

Are all old customers destined to get one of these over time , or would it only be supplied in new installs and by demand?

Just curious ...

What might happen is that, eventually, if they run out of stock of the SH1 you might get a SH2 as a replacement in the event of a fault. However, this is not going to happen any time soon as I'm sure they've got huge stock of the SH1, not least because of the sheer number of returns and replacements they've done. Essentially, the only way to deplete stock now is for a new 30MB customer to sign up, or someone to get their existing SH1 replaced.

As always, the best advice I can give you is that if you're having issues with your SH1, buy yourself a dedicated and decent router. You won't regret it and you'll be kicking yourself for not having done it sooner.

Thanks Seph.

Taking you redit into account (!), the number should be around the 300 mark but if you have low SNR/RxMER on any channel, then the number of bott-time post-RS errors on that channel will be higher

Have been getting some errors lately, can anyone elaborate as to what they are or if there anything to worry about?.

How are your power levels? Also are your DS/US channels stable or losing synch?

This is a known condition (the TEK events) in the SH2 on firmware v1.01.19. The TEK events were removed in test versions some of the triallists received. It;s a pity that VM didn't relase the SH2 with a known issues list.

IIRC, there is a timing issue (like the TOD corrections) that throws other dubsystems off with little adverse effect.

Thanks seph, I haven't noticed any real impact on my connection with these errors infact my connection is more stable than ever (Touch Wood). Managing to sustain over 100mb on a sunday evening in my area is a real achievment in my books :dunce:

Random question... my contract is due to expire next week and I plan to call retentions, but as my door buzzer still does not work and I'm at work all day can VM Retentions send the Superhub 2 to my place of work to save me and the delivery driver hassle?

Has anyone done this before?

They are reasonable people and I'm sure that won't be a problem.

All the SH2 triallists received their SH2 by courier and self-installed with a telephone call to Activations.

My impression of the SH2 on the trial when it was on v1.01.19 was that it was an improvement on the SH1 with R37.

Wireless stability was the main difference. It reset occasionally on the T4 - ththe T4 event was (AFAIK) a fake event, but once caused, the thing had to reboot. I received a patch firmware version ond it hasn't done that since. Most of the triallists are on R23 which I believe may emerge in the public domain as R25 in a couple of weeks (my dates are not gospel).

I'm a declared Modem Mode fan, but I'm still in router mode mainly because I'm still in the trials but as my TBB graph shows, it's rock solid.

Got my new superhub. My area been upgraded to 120mb best the old hub could do was 95mb i complained as the old one would only give me 40mb in router mode with all other things off. Engineer install on Saturday morning over 100mb no problem i notice a good improvement.

Well I've finally set up my N66U so the SH2 is running in modem mode. Be interesting to see the graph now:

It looks similar to mine in modem mode with a large capped off yellow band.
