Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Reports on Boxrec suggest Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli has been added to the Cleverly undercard. I know he is a drug cheat, I know he has no chin and I know he should retire for the good of his health however there is something about Enzo Maccarinelli that makes him must watch TV. His fights are so unpredictable.

If not, this says so much about this company. Not replying to emails and then making embarrassingly lame excuses for not doing so, which bordered on insolence, is the main reason we decided not to do business with them from launch. |

BoxNation confirmed today on Twitter they will no longer be showing Olusegun Vs. Matthyse this Saturday. The show does actually go ahead. BoxNation have given no reason why they are not showing the action. |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Word floating about Manchester is that he is turning pro on a Hatton bill at the MEN in November which will also feature Mr. Hatton himself and be aired on ITV
Daily Mail are reporting this story! He's going to be featured in a two part documentary 'The Gloves Are Off' aired on Sky One in the build up to his debut. Then Sky One are doing a post fight special, Allegedly Channel covering the fight from the MEN Arena in Manchester. Quotes from Freddie, McGuigan as well. 30th November, tickets go on sale Friday, Heavyweight contest, unnamed opponent. ITV are on the story now too. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box...ain-boxer.html |

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...e-a-punch.html "Warren, who insists he is not involved with promoting the fight, is not convinced the Lancashire legend will make an impact in the heavyweight division." The only other promoter on BoxNation is Frank Maloney, and I can't see him putting this fight on. Since rumours started in July about Rickys return to the ring, it has always been suggested he would fight this November in Manchester. Both Ricky and Freddie are friends. I can't think of anything other than a Hatton / BoxNation deal. Ricky Hatton return + Freddie Flintoff debut = £££££££ for both Hatton and BoxNation. |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
yeh thats what i thought they just getting 1 off deals where they can for now until they get a good offer! i wouldnt think they could get many offers than what they already will have had unless ricky makes a comeback!

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
What I find a little strange is SKY making 2 separate shows about Freddies fight. The first show will air on SKY1 the night before the fight, and the second show a few days after the fight. I wouldn't have expected SKY to build-up a show so much which is featuring on a rival channel. Even if Ricky doesn't return that night, people will join BoxNation to see what many feel is a freak show. Personally I think Freddie is entitled to do what he wants. If he wants to give boxing a try, why should anyone talk it down or just outright rubbish it. He clearly loves boxing and isn't doing this for the money. I wish him nothing but good luck, and will be watching on the 30th November.
Would be interesting if they put him in with an Ozzie opponent :D |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
SKY are showing Lucian Bute Vs. Denis Grachev. I don't think it's live. They will be showing it on Sunday the 4th November. Will be interesting to see what Bute has left after such a crushing defeat at the hands of Froch.

I'd be surprised if the Liam Smith and Joe Selkirk fight isn't televised. It's the main event of the Debra charity fight night which Warren supports each year. Actually when I think back last years event was between Jamie Cox and Obodai Sia for the Commonwealth title. The fight took place on the 08th September and was televised on SKY Sports, just 2 weeks before Frank Warren and BoxNation confirmed the launch of their new channel together. If I had to pick just one show, I'd love it if BoxNation picked up Donaire Vs. Nishioka. |
Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Reading from various sources that Hatton Promotions have landed a new deal with SKY!
