Even at £5.99 I don't see many bothering with its current rights.

Exactly and in my opinion they are going to struggle to break even financially like some before.

Never watched much of it while it was on Sky Sports and BT Sport , you've got to be a fanatic to have an interest in watching those leagues.

Not for me I only ever watched El Classico. Cannot see how they will cover costs.

The opening PL game, Man Utd v Leicester City, on Friday 10th August is also being shown on Sky One.

A bit of a stretch calling the Dutch, Chinese and Swedish leagues 'top leagues'.

If that is all they are offering I will not subscribe.

I pay enough for my sport as it is so I for one won't be paying anything for this channel.

Same here - assuming I realised it was on.

Not really interested in the leagues they offer - enough football on sky/BT to satisfy my needs.

Surely Eleven Sports must realise that most sports fans sub to Sky and BT Sports so will be unwilling to pay out yet more money. My thoughts are that they will do their best to do a deal with sky and virgin to bundle their channel in with their sports pack. Then the on line sub will satisfy those that don't have sky or virgin.

I agree whilst lots of people watch Football the majority in the UK only have a passing interest in the league's Eleven Sports have acquired , if they don't manage to negotiate carriage on Sky , Virgin and BT I think they'll struggle. I just can't see many paying £5.99 a month for the rights they currently have especially those who already pay to Sky Sports or BT Sports or both.

Well, having read all the replies, unless I have missed one - no one is prepared to pay extra so Eleven Sports is doomed to fail as another Irish sports offering did.

It is a conundrum,

stick to streaming and not many will subscribe (maybe OB will put his money where his mouth is). Or

Get it carried on Sky/virgin and nobody will subscribe because they can get it free - of course they may do as Premier Sports, but how many subscribe to PS?

True but the overwhelming response to their announcement on Twitter today was essentially if they don't launch a proper TV channel on SKY or Virgin people won't be buying. Others are interested in the service if the launch a smart TV app. Not many shouting from the rooftop about the prospect of streaming the action on their tablet or phone.

The next few weeks will be interesting. How long would it take them to create a compatible app for V6 and TiVo?
