The only consolation in this sorry affair is that Starmer acted quickly and decisively unlike some of his predecessors who placed loyalty before justice. However, if this is proved otherwise, it could be quite problematical.

Starmer will wait now to see if the MOS releases the names of others in that group that may or may not be complicit. If he knows what is in that WhatsApp group and who is out of order then he should stand up and sack them, however he is weak and will not do that for fear of what his party will do to him.

I'm not surprised by this latest crisis, it's well known they hate the elderly and are the go to party for antisemitism.

As much as don’t like him, or what he said.

It was a private WhatsApp group. I think the person who leaked it is even lower and slimier than him.

A warning to any politician in a WhatsApp group.

What about the answer he sent to the lady .clearly he is void of any sort of care. Moreover surely any decent person on that group should have reported him. How many of them are in people office  vote labour you know they care about you:dunce:

He didn't reply to the lady, as the original letter wasn't to him.

Still shouldn't have that sort of opinion of those that didn't vote Labour or don't agree with certain policies. No doubt many Labour voters also have concerns about bin collections.

In messages seen by the Mail on Sunday, Gwynne said he hoped a 72-year-old woman would soon be dead after she wrote to her local councillor about bin collections.
The councillor shared the woman's letter with Gwynne and other Labour figures in a WhatsApp group called Trigger Me Timbers, the newspaper reported.
