Would that have been needed if the USPS had bothered to actually deliver the mail on time!

A federal judge ordered the US Postal Service on Sunday to take “extraordinary measures” to ensure mail ballots arrive on time.

USPS is seeing a severe dip in on-time delivery rates leading up to the 3 November presidential election, according to the data from the agency. Some of the largest mail delays are in battleground states where late ballots could make the difference in which candidate wins the state – and possibly the election.

America needs some federal intervention to improve voting procedures imo. Stop the long lines, have standardised ballot formats, allow postal votes to be counted EARLY as they did in Flordia so that you don't spend days counting them afterwards.

Probably less work for lawyers though and there is nothing more American than litigation.

As I understand it Federal rights over States rights is a core issue for many Americans for minor things as it is, let alone for anything as big as the Presidential and Congressional elections!

In latest batch, Trump gets share of votes he would need to reclaim Arizona. But next rounds of ballots present new challenges

Yeah, It won't happen, but they treat their voters with such contempt.

Even something like keeping stations open until 10 pm so people can vote after work is fair. In the states, many of them close at 7 pm which means huge amounts of people have 1.5 - 2 hours after work to get to a station and vote. No wonder they have such long queues.

Their ballots seem to be really confusing as well. They look like betting slips. This is probably unfair since they have, at the same time, House and Senate elections as well as all manor of state-level offices to elect and even very local ones as school commissions, police commissioners, sanitation commissioners and so on.

Too much of American culture seems to hinge on the idea that legal and administrative tricks to advantage your side are fair game so long as you get away with it. I would say here there is a general sense of fair play that breaking the spirit of would cause public outcry even if it were technically legal. I think without conventions and a general moral sense of what you should do that things can unravel quickly.

When you're brought up to believe you're the best in the world, I guess it's easy to believe however you do stuff must already be the best.

Maybe the whole system needs limits on spending and campaigning so it's not just those who can raise the finances that can stand.

Interesting Trump doesn't want to stop counting in any state where he's ahead... Its only fraudulent if he's lost.

Maybe he could appeal on the grounds that some black people have voted ? Worth a go.

As I've said before, the USA is AFU and no way out given the 50/50 split.
I wonder which side has the most assault rifles.

Jeez, what a messed up country.

If one does not accept and respect the results of a democratic vote then one ceases to become a democracy.
