I would rather it came later and hope that they do some needed upgrades on their peering links first, a stable 2mbit is better then an erratic 10mbit.

Ive been reading on ADSL-guide that BT have delayed the Max DSL launch till spring-2006, I also read that they will be running a number of trials before launch blah blah ,

I just want to know, if you guys still think NTL will still go ahead with the 10mb upgrades before christmas,

I ask this because NTL only released the 10mb news, to keep up with BT,
and now bt have delayed things, I just wondered if it will create a domino effect,

I really hope not, but who knows?.

i read a post on the NTL Media site saying some customers will need to upgrade their modem. Further details will be announced at launch. so it might just be the 200,s i have the new 250 we will see on launch

Thatââ‚ ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s got me thinking, I donââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢t even know what Modem Iâ₠¬ÃƒÆ’¢â€žÂ¢ve got.

Its silver with Ntl:home Broadband internet on it Model 60194E A12.

I have a problem with the Ac plug and an enginner is coming on the 21st of this month and the CS said they would probably change the Modem as well but I thought it would just be the same one, as Iâ₠¬ÃƒÆ’¢â€žÂ¢ve had to send things back in there entirety before to places when only a small part is fault to get a brand new back.

So is this an old model?

Fairly happy with it never had any problems apart from the ac unit supplying it. Would my old one have been swapped anyway fro this new speed increase?

This has been asked before, the network port is only 10Mbps half-duplex, which means the output network port won't be able to sustain 10Mbps downstream and the required percentage upstream acknowledgement messages. Newer modems have 100Mbps network ports so won't have this restriction

However - it may get very close and in real use not likely to be the limiting factor! I'm sure ntl will test and replace any modems that don't meet the spec - I recommend waiting - who knows what the ntl 350 will be capable of!
