Lots of lovely happy thoughts since my last visit so well done everyone. :)

Off for a lovely curry later as part of our celebrations for our eldest's 18th birthday. :D

Can't believe how time's flown though.... :erm: ;)

Lovely day here in Knaresborough. Un-broken sunshine. For today, locals got a free pass to look around Mother Shipton's, which I haven't done in years.

Which one did you get her? (Just out of interest. I play keyboards/piano myself and have had a few different ones over the decades.)

Just had a lovely meal at our favorite local restaurant, The Green Dragon, which re-opened to-day after a complete refurbishment.

The place is even more welcoming than before and the food delicious as usual but the unexpected highlight was watching Bradley Wiggins speed past our window in the Tour of Britain on the way to the Toll Bridge at Warburton as we sat enjoying our coffee. Boy do those guys go fast!!!!!!

I have say that the Police outriders seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the crowds if the grins on their faces was anything to go by as they rode past. :)

Eldest has been a properly poorly boy for all of his life but we didn't know until 6 years ago.
Supported, incredibly well, by his work place he has worked so hard in his own time to gain his own degree. He missed out last year by 1 mark. (B+ at any section of any stage of any exam is a 'fail').

After a traumatic year and successful recovery, and retake of his finals, I get to go to a ceremony and feel even prouder, smile even wider.
(I think new shoes and handbag might be in order Jo :D )

I just had to share :)

I know how proud I felt last year when Grim Jr put on her hat and robe, I can only guess at the feelings when they've had to battle adversity too. Take plenty of photos so you can keep reliving one of the best days of your life.

I want one! My energy providers don't provide them and I figured that I'll just unplug stuff rather than spend £££ buying one :D

Happy thought is that youngest couldn't quite get to grips with tabs to help me out, BUT he did start a bit of acoustic delight for me.
He is quite talented, but shy, and does not perform easily without a band behind him.
He just curled up on the chair and strummed ' Hey There Delilah', and such, to me. Something I can't buy or plan or ask for. Wondrful.

Well done heero, I was mortified when our dishwasher died. It's OK when there's only two of you but a family Sunday dinner is another matter :).
My happy thought is that our younger daughter is moving, with her boyfriend, into a flat next week. The downside is that we have to buy the sofa. Good luck to them, they met at University about 5 years ago but were just friends. Now they're together and the missus and I are very happy for them :D.

i don't need to pull a bird - I am happily married.

My bedtime is when I decide, and it isn't yet - tonight may get messy....:D

Very nice. Now for the interesting stuff, did she buy herself any shoes? :D

Good to know Juliann is home safe and you can enjoy your time together before she jets off again.

Some good news for a change, my 3 month average blood glucose levels have dropped from 130 (they changed to a new system instead of the old 7.8 and so on) to 110. Which means it has gone from 14 down to 12.1, a big step forward in my diabetes management. I am also allowed to drop my dose of Simvastatin from 20mg to 10mg as my cholesterol has gone down, and my blood pressure is to be checked on Wednesday.

So all in all, looks like things could be on the up from now on.

I'm already playing Christmas music. Love Christmas, unfortunately I get in the mood earlier and earlier each year so by the time December comes around I am in the 'Bah humbug' mode!

Watch out for those data charges you may well be better off getting a contract sim as tethering can be a data killer.

John Williams has won the Classical Brit Award for his contribtion as a composer this year. Well-deserved IMHO.
He has an outstanding history of composing for previous screen play.
