I qualify for the flu jab, but not covid. Makes sense to somebody. Probably something to do with money.

Got both mine yesterday. NHS Scotland still sets up vaccine clinics, so just get a letter and told where and when to go. GPs don't do them now.

Got mine at the local pharmacy (both free, and it supports a small local business) - I asked them the price for a flu jab for SWMBO, and they informed me that flu jabs are free from 64th birthday, so she's waiting till next Tuesday to get her's...

This is the second year that both flu and covid jabs given at the same time!
One jab in each arm, makes sleeping a bit awkward as I am a side sleeper and aches for a week afterwards.

So many local people complained to NHS Wales, that an investigation found that our local GP Surgery was refusing stocks of the flu vaccine due to "a lack of storage". But they had been given grants for fridges to store covid vaccines.

The practice manager apparently did not know this, so stocks have been requested from next Monday.

Then I got a call asking me to book my jab. I did, but for all the family in one session in 2 weeks. There will not be a walk-in clinic, though, so a lot of new Uni students who have not registered with a GP might fall through the cracks.

The covid jab location was overwhelmed yesterday until a very stern lady boss (think Head Matron), cracked the whip and got the system running as it should. In-and-out in 5 minutes.

My town is doing a lot (and I mean a lot) of poxy road works several are right next to each other and they are on the main road out of the town and to the train station.

They say it's going to take 2 years to do!!

I mean WTAF are they using, hand tools??

China built and had running in less than 2 years an international airport.

Some times I can travel the 5 mile long way round to get from the shop home than the direct 2 mile route.

That sounds like a major upgrade to a significant length of something very chunky … sewers most likely but could be a gas or water main.

A week ?

My flu jab never aches, the covid one is usually a little sore over one night, ok after that.

SWMBO has decided we need to revamp the living room, so to that end we had the joy of visiting a large furniture retailer in Leeds that stocks the items we (we, hah!) want - Parker Knoll / G Plan large two seater and standard two seater power recliner sofas, and some new fitted carpet for them to rest upon.

I may have to sell one (or two) of my internal organs to help pay for them…

Should have waited for the January sales Hugh, when all sofas miraculously become half price. Even if they don't she might have forgotten about it and be set on a new kitchen instead ;)

I managed to convince her of that approach…

If it's the big shiny one on Regent Street, we got an extra discount there by telling them we've previously shopped at Nettletons in Horbury - all part of the same company. They didn't ask for proof or anything just gave us another discount.

Take a look here

https://www.wbfurniture.co.uk/

4 years ago I bought a g plan set consisting of a 2 seater and 3 seater power recliner and an armchair power recliner for less than the price of the 3 seater in the usual places. Still in perfect condition

Last year I bought a g plan 3 seater power recliner for the snug for a third of the price.

I’ve seen them have Parker knoll stuff in as well

Highly recommend them

My whinge: just had the quote back for the new kitchen 18k and that’s without flooring worktops, appliances or fitting but does include a 42% discount as it’s being purchased by a friend who is in the trade
