A tie is mathematically possible, and there’s a process for settling it. The House of Representatives chooses the president and the Senate chooses the VP.

And this would be the current session of both houses. The new session based on yesterday’s election begins in January.

Doesn't give confidence, I'll agree there. Who on the planet genuinely thinks that there can be no clarity on who will be the next President for over a week. (Legal challenges aside).

Dido Harding moonlights as an election commissioner so they’ve made a conscious effort to slow down the processing of results to reduce pressure on the system.
