To be fair on VM, this is the longest that I have known them to allow a dead air channel to remain on the EPG. I fear that this is the end.

I think the Sky Basic channels are the longest.

Stop broadcasting March 1st 2007: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/34237254-post12.html

Removed from EPG July 18th 2007: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/34353355-post86.html

Relaunch November 13th 2008.

The Africa Channel stop broadcast around the 9th of June. And was removed from EPG on August 27th.

AMC may not launch on Virgin for "Quite long time".

Media Boy Sources has told us today that both AMC and AMC HD may not launch on Virgin Media in quite long time, no time frame was mentioned.

This is the interesting situation where your sources say not this year and theone's say definitely this year!

No surprise there as BT are increasingly starting to behave like Sky.:(

Not surprised really, BT will play their competitive advantage for all it is worth. Bit strange though that as XL TV has BT Sport which is how the AMC channel is linked, then why not part of XL? But that would be a wholesale agreement (correct?) rather than a specific purchase of the Sports package from BT as has to be done for Sky customers I believe.

After Sky Atlantic, another case of VM being blocked from new content or VM not prepared to accept BT terms in this case? Understand Amazon Prime will also have first rights for the repeat viewing of "Fear of the Walking Dead" for example, so it could be some time before VM is able to show some new series now on AMC. Not good for VM I have to say.

But we do have another reliable poster theone saying AMC will come this year so let's not get too worried just yet. Both theone and MediaBoy sound convinced that their conflicting sources are correct!

Probably because BT Sport is a well known channel and it's addition will help VM add/keep customers.

AMC, outside the realms of forums such as these, is hardly known of at all and therefore probably not worth VM paying extra for at this point in time.

How are they? Like SKY BT are investing in content VM seem to like to just leech of SKY and BT for content, although VM seemingly got a good deal in the sale of their channels they really should of kept them as now they would have a strong bargaining chip, VM are getting left behind for content and do not seem to want to invest in it, there is loads of stuff that hasn't been picked up that VM could go for but they won't, they will wait until someone else gets the rights and then try to leech of them.
VM should just drop tv and stick to their strongest product broadband which they are investing in.
If VM don't want to pay the going rate then tough cheese they won't get the content.
