The LANKY boys are the new county champions.

With no highly paid overseas stars, lots of lads that have come from the local leagues and tipped for relegation at the start of the season a truly magnificent performance.

Jim.

The icing on the cake.... The Yorkshire puddings were relegated.:D

Well India the much heralded tour team from the sub continent has gone home with the tail between its legs after a total thrashing in the Test and ODI series with them not winning one game at all.

Looks like England will have a game on their hands, forget the recent series in England where india were ill prepared and had injuries india in the sub continent fully fit and with greater preparation , will be a whole new game denphone.

I wonder though if india will perform better v England in a few weeks time when England go on a short one game series to india.

Or wether the players will still be carrying injuries and or lack of preparation ,should be an interestng mini series that will show possibly how far England have come if we are competitive in indias back yard.:)

The trouble is when you go to the sub continent their pitches are produced to suit their batsmen and bowlers but then again this happens in most other countries as well.

Yes that is the case in England some of the pitches used were very green especially Lords as i recall, suited our bowlers to some extent especially Bresnan, swann and Anderson.

And in india they will be hard virtually grassless pitches which helps their bowlers, and possibly they will be suited to Andersons style of fast bowling, but not so much to Englands more skiddy medium pacers.
