Virgin Media are changing how you can watch Channel 4 shows on demand from August 1st

From next week you'll no longer be able to use 4OD by scrolling back on the TV guide you'll instead have to go through to app which will force you to watch adverts unless you have a Channel 4+ account

Just so you know, from 1st August, you won’t be able to watch Channel 4 shows on demand by going back in the TV Guide or from the Catch Up folders – but they’ll be back up and running soon.

The good news is, there are easier ways to find your favourites in the meantime.

Here are a few ways to do it:

1. Press the Search button and enter the name of the show you want to watch
2. Press the Mic button on your remote and say the name of the show you want to watch
3. Launch the Channel 4 app in Apps
4. Press the Mic button on your remote and say ‘Channel 4 app’

The Channel 4 app has ad breaks, which can’t be skipped without a Channel 4+ account.

I presume this means that Channel 4 catch-up will not be available to TV only customers?

Do you not have the Channel 4 app (previously ‘All4’)? That will contain all your catch up shows. As I understand it, even the basic VM package has that.

TV only customers use the legacy Tivo which doesn't have the Channel 4 app. When similar changes were made to ITV on demand content, legacy Tivo boxes continued to list ITV content in their on demand sections. It remains to be seen whether or not this will be repeated for Channel 4 content.

Thank you for clarifying that, epsilon. Those old boxes are becoming next to useless with time.

From 28th this month Sky customers can get lionsgate+ free for 3 months, also ongoing there'll be a selection of shows free for SKY subscribers to watch even if they're not subscribed to lionsgate+, shows such as power book II the first season are included.
I don't know if the same will happen on VM as of yet though.

It was closed down In European countries e.g Germany and Italy , Starz/Lionsgate owned content (which doesn't include Outlander) to Amazon who launched MGM+

Some of ongoing Starz Originals Lionsgate own have been removed from the service aswell...

It is literally on SKY mr know it all, stop acting like you know everything because it's getting tedious and annoying now.
