I'd say the substance of what the likes of MB and DF post usually has some basis. It doesn't alway come to fruition but I'm quite happy to take it on board on that basis.

I appreciate the effort they put in collating and passing on what they've heard. It'd be a pretty dull thread without them.;)

I was wondering the same. They're what Firefox prints up when it doesn't have a glyph for a particular character; the numbers are the Unicode glyph number. They all seem to be in the Unicode private use area. Care to enlighten us, Henkesghost?

More a case of well intended I would say, these posters while able to obtined such advanced information also have no control on any new channel or feature release, so either you wait until an official announcement comes out or do not take timescales too literally.

I guessed they are meant to be smilies, but this is what they look like for me in Firefox. As Carl says, they appear as white squares in IE.

Pasting it in to the address bar suggests that they are supposed to represent an ellipsis.

Pasting it in to Word also shows the same result.

A better choice for an ellipsis would be ALT+0133 on Windows or Option+; on a Mac, which gives "…".

No news update on both.

Note to all: Sky Arts 1 and Sky Arts 2 moved tomorrow to Virgin Channels 281 and 283 with Sky Arts 1 HD launching on Virgin Channel 282 and Sky Arts 2 HD launching on Virgin Channel 284.
