The 60 lengths of my small local pool, is getting more of a struggle each year. . Wonder what it could be?

Time somebody found a cure for ageing. I seek immortality as i dont believe in God.

Wish I was able to get a bit fitter, but I am not overweight so I won’t worry

I'm about 3½ stone overweight (mainly around the middle) and not exactly fit because an arthritic knee and lower back arthritis severely limit many exercises . . even walking any distance.

Having said that, against all professional advice I've been smoking since I was 15, eat all the 'wrong' foods, and drink Brandy very regularly :erm:

I have no real wish to push my aging body further than it wants to go just so I can once again look good in 32" waist jeans :D

I need out of my comfort zone. I feel a different energy when I'm away from my home town. It's surprising to know not many results appear from Google for retreats. Health wellbeing isn't really what I'm looking for.

I ate 2 whole boxes of maltesers
https://peeko.co.uk/products/malteaser-bundle-3-pieces

And half a box of Lindt assorted chocolates
https://peeko.co.uk/products/lindt-moments-223g

Safe to say I've fallen from the weight loss invigor. I don't know what to do other than wonder of an escape to some fairy world, use every last bit of energy to rid myself of this weight then come home. :nutter:

A pill version of the blockbuster weight-loss drug Wegovy has been approved in the UK, meaning people will soon be able to buy it with a prescription.

Bad news. I had to attend an appointment early this morning for my lower back. They wanted to sign me off work with disc relapse and sciatic symptoms. I've been referred to a physio again, I last saw one in 2024 who taught me pilates but that's proving useless. Pain killers don't work. Relief patches do nothing. My eyes go blurry during pain.

Getting fit my arse

Feel for ya, my last 10 years at work were plagued by sciatica and lower back pain.

I still have constant back pain, the severity comes and goes, tablets and pain relief gels/creams do bugger all . . . Brandy helps a little :D

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?

Vicious circle this. I have no energy to work out due to medication. That then keeps me technically obese. The only ever issue I had when I was 7/8 stone was shin splints which went away with persistence on the treadmill but that was when I was full of energy. Now at 14 stone, 165cm height it's impossible.

My doctor followed up and has confirmed sciatica, lower disc relapse. I had a MRI scan some time ago, results were no issues detected. Bloody shooting pains up my body that conveniently occur at bed time are ace  I didn't even know what sciatica is, still don't to be honest :( just keeping calm and carrying on...

Sciatica is something pressing on your nerve, causing the pain.

My lower back muscles feel like it's pressing on my lower spine and hips.
