Why there's probably even less interest in them

EFL highlights given another new home as Discovery lands rights.

Highlights have been shown at 9PM on Channel Five for the past three seasons

The highlights show attracts just 500,000 viewers - much lower than expected

EFL have accepted an offer to broadcast highlights on freeview channel Quest

Well, I certainly wouldn't but then again I'm not a sports fan.

However, the bigger picture is what I'm interested in and where this may lead us to in the future. Eleven Sports is expanding, so this is an interesting development.

One thing definitely working in this household is updates and alerts on the email system which breaks stories quickly.

re: premier sports getting the pro14 rugby.....

I'm a bit cheesed off with the wording on their Q&A.:

Quote:

Q: How do I access Premier Sports & FreeSports?
A: Premier Sports is a High Definition subscription service available to 16 million UK homes and on the Sky and Virgin Media platforms and available to everyone on all devices via the Premier Player.
That reads like Virgin customers will be getting all games in HD. And we know that's not the case, despite having to pay the same for premier sports as sky customers :mad:

Premier Sports HD will be with VM in the Summer, I believe, so that wording is ok.

Never judge a book by its cover Andrew as perceptions are often wrong.;):D

Discovery are preparing to launch a UK version of Quest HD, which will be useful for its sports rights.

I think it likely that this will come to VM seeing as I believe that Liberty Global own some (or all?) of Discovery.

Premier Sports have confirmed that carriage negotiations are taking place and that they are confident that Premier Sports HD, Premier Sports 2, Premier Sports 2 HD, Freesports and Freesports HD will join VM "by the summer".

Thanks, is there a press release or article I can read that confirms this?

BT and Sky part own the rights to the SPFL right now.
BBC and Sky part own the right to the Scottish Cup right now (Two games on Sky and One game on BBC up to Semi Final).

There's been a "rumour" about this for years.

Neil Doncaster has been putting this about every chance he gets, whenever some football rights change hands.

Sky only really care about the Celtic vs :erm: Glasgow Rangers 2012 :dunce: matches as they draw a big audience across the UK.
