Couple of interesting developments today that may support the rumours of a BT Sport PPV channel. Earlier today there was reports that BT Showcase will close at the end of this football season. Then there was the press conference to announce Tyson Fury has signed with Frank Warren and his comeback fight will be in June. This got no coverage from BoxNation on social media whatsoever suggesting the fight won't feature on the channel. Warren confirmed the broadcaster will be confirmed next week.

Have a feeling this is building towards BT Sport Box Office replacing BT Showcase on Freeview / Youview with Tyson Fury featuring in their first PPV event.

Tyson Fury fights are not worth tuppence let alone £25.

No fight is worth £25

Reasons:-

1) all start late at night or after midnight
2) could be all over in a couple of minutes
3) boxing is barbaric - particularly in days of concussion awareness

It most certainly is barbaric, which is what makes it so popular.

You could be onto something. I do wonder about the future of Box Nation given that:
1) The majority owner who was propping the channel up, Bill Ives, died last year. His estate now controls the channel but whether it has the same enthusiasm to keep the channel going is an unknown.http://www.kellylouiseclark.co.uk/wp...s-Nov-2017.pdf
2) It is loss-making and its plans to set up sister companies in other countries have not come to fruition.
3) Its registered office is now the BT Sport Studio in the Olympic Park. http://www.boxnation.com/terms-and-conditions/

With 5 minutes of the game to go I noticed that Southampton v Chelsea was showing on Sky One today. It was not on Mix even though no other live sport was scheduled for the duration.

After a quick scan of the EPG I see Liverpool V Stoke listed on Sky One on Saturday 28th April, while Mix are showing Rugby Sevens

I wonder if this an indication in a change of tact regarding Mix

I wouldn't think so - you occasionally get games or a weekend's games put on sky1, presumably to tempt people to upgrade.
