The Sports rights Amazon picks up will be smaller ones and rights it can exploit across multiple territories.

I could see Amazon bidding for some of the non-Uk rights when they are renewed, but have to agree - the only possible benefit to them (or any new bidder) would be to get their toe in the water.

Sky and BT can each have 1 of the remaining packages because the rules state no one broadcaster can have more than 5 packages (currently Sky have 4 and BT 1)

Looks like VM are offering Sky Sports to some customers for £15.88 a month for 1 year via email

Over 200 hours of sport from the Commonwealth Games will be broadcast this April on the Beeb. Looks like they have secured exclusive rights on this occasion.

Personally I don't think people can complain about the lack of sport on BBC and then moan about 'regular' programming being moved around/postponed.

Well I for one have never moaned about the lack of sport on the Beeb. I think they should put all their sport on BBC2 and the red button. BBC2 programs can be put on ice until the games are over. Here's an idea rename BBC2 BBC Olympics for the duration of the games.

Indeed one cannot have it both ways.

Yes, but if you record all the good stuff you want to watch, you can fall back on those recordings.

Alternatively, you can browse all the on demand stuff, of which there is quite a lot, or watch some Netflix or Amazon, if you subscribe.

This is nothing more than speculation however heard a suggestion BT will be launching a PPV channel on SKY and Youview real soon. The channel will be used for PPV boxing and some UFC events.... allegedly.

The point I was trying to make is you tune in to watch say the news only to find its been moved to bbc 2, by which time you may of missed 5 or 10 minutes of it or else it's running late and consequently all other programs or they get cancelled.

Yes, that's annoying, but you can fall back on the news channels.
