Erm, neither Rolf Harris or Jimmy Saville went to Cambridge (or Oxford), and I don't believe either of them played golf.....

I've heard through the grapevine that a certain person - and I'm making no hints, suggestions or implications of who it is - had "inappropriate" moments with a fan a long time ago but a few years ago (and previous to Yewtree) wrote that person a letter expressing regret and shame for what what they did and offered unreserved apologies.

The victim supposedly allowed this person to believe that the letter was the end of the matter but when Yewtree kicked off they took it to the police who apparently looked at it as a confession-of-sorts.

I think it's all about 'reputation'. One of the reasons I think the Catholic Church has covered up so much of its abuse is to 'protect the reputation' as they probably feel the subsequent fall-out stemming from a worldwide loss of face outweighs the necessity to see the guilty parties brought to justice. Same with the BBC and probably a lot of other massive institutions.

Anybody else think it is unfair that people are named when they have simply been questioned and not even charged, yet alone convicted? Yes the alleged offences are serious. Yes by naming someone there is a probability that others may come forward. But, trial should be in court, not the media, and whatever we may say, mud sticks and once "outed" in public the stigma will remain, even if no further action is taken.

I'm not surprised therefore there are rumours of super-injunctions.
