Exactly, i think its the same at every ground. I would think that at away grounds fans season tickets cannot be taken away so they are able to support their team properly, which is a great shame.

Its a bit of everything.

Mal is right that away supporters are the most hardcore, and therefore most vocal. Also Andy is right that rising prices bring in a different kind of supporter. However, its not quiet everywhere else, as I have been to Spurs several times this season and even with our crap season, still easily outsing the away supporters, and generally giving vigourous support (unless we are an anomaly). Or maybe our lack of success is motivating supporters. SDUK is also correct with his link. I don't think its so much as the stewards are Nazis but the FA regulations are screwing the hell out of supporters. During the matches at WHL we are constantly threatened by the FA of playing our matches in a closed stadium. However we all stand up anyway until a steward comes along and shouts at us. We sit down for a moment, stand up again, and the process continues. I haven't heard of anyone being eject or losing their season tickets over it. That is Nazi-esque, (although I can imagine its not very much fun for kids). Plus it will be hard to eject most of the stand as well. Also the chants have changed a lot and become a lot more family-friendly. I don't think we've even called Wenger a paedophile this season. There was never much in the way of racism* but a lot of the character and colour has been lost I think, because people are afraid of the repercussions. That said we are still vocal with the generic, family-friendly chants, so it all comes around.

* Spurs fans aren't even allowed to call ourselves yids anymore.

The thing with the stewards at United has been happening since OT went all-seater. The club were always blaming Trafford Council for "making" the fans sit down.

There have been a number of games on TV this season, where I have heard the away fans out-sing the home fans.

Hi Gavin, I'm a yid, and have been for 30 years, and l am proud of the fact, l used to go to every game, until l got married, the proudest moment as a yid, was we played Hearts in Edinburgh, and there was just 30 of us travelled North for a friendly, and when Spurs scored, we did the usual, and we got a standing ovation, that we had travelled up there, and the friendship we received, l will never forget, it was brilliant, since then at WHL, there has been some silly rules brought out, but my main complaint about the Lane, is that the seats are too damn small - up the yids.:):) oh by the way, l still go the the Lane, and now l take my two sons, who l am proud of, and in two months, l will enjoy taking my grandson to WHL.

That was because the Council was made up mostly of city fans, when we stood up we were threatened with parts of the stadium being closed but when they stood up at home they turned a blind eye to it.

That might be because United are under Trafford Borough Council and City are under Manchester City Council... ;) It might just have been Trafford being awkward or United finding a scapegoat...

:erm: Okay...

Fair play to City then, for being under the jurisdiction of a council who weren't being arsey. We should move stadiums...that would have the added bonus of stopping all those jibes about Trafford United... ;)

Man Utd never really broke sweat at Villa Park, a complete lack of ambition by Villa was duly punished, fantastic result from the Latics at Goodison.
I cannot understand sides like Blackburn who are in a safe position in the league putting out a weakened side.:(
