Why do they if the remaining two packs aren't worth spending more for.

They still need to pad out their schedules MM.

Not really BT has a decent portfolio of Sports rights these days.

Remeber at present they have mid week slots along with the Saturday the new champions league and Europa league deal runs out in 2021 if they lose the next bid and end up with 10 less PL games a season the football portfolio will be well down

Will they pay more than £1.18bn next time for the CL?

If they are really serious about PL games they really need to show it in this auction and get another pack

I hope BT out bid Sky for the SPFL rights (Scottish Football).

SPFL rights are up at the end of Season 2020/2021.

I think BT will land the Scottish Cup in the next month or so

A decent set of rights but Sundays are still sadly lacking and that's usually when I'm home.

Looks like the EPL has made a mistake with the final two packs. From what I have read no bids were received at the price they wanted.

We think Channel 5 or Eurosport may pick them up.

But here an outside bet - Premier Sports / Freesport bidding for them.;)

An assessment of the near-£4.5bn committed to Premier League clubs for live UK televising of their matches from 2019-22

I was surprised that Discovery didn't make a play for it this time, although I recognise that next time it will be very different!

If the details of the packs posted a few post back are correct - which channel would bid for a package of 20 matches which all have to be shown on just two days ?

There not very attractive to those broadcasters cost wise and the multiple screening required, although Eurosport could use its online player to screen multiple games.
