Yet another Montepulciano d'abruzo but tonight it's the new ASDA's own brand Extra Special stuff which has just started appearing (and disappearing) on the shelves.

Hats off to the ASDA wine buyers for consistently delivering. This stuff is really very good for the price.

Gentleman Jack, after having some Woodford Reserve.

Both were on special offer in Tesco the other week, and i hadn't tried either :) I wouldn't pay full price for either again, there's better value for money drinks out there, but with best part of £10 off Gentleman Jack is v good, much nicer than regular JD, which I'm not that fussed about.

We were talking about whisky and whiskey at work, a colleague said he like Jameson's, a half bottle is reduced in Sainsbury's at the mo, so I bought one to try it on the way home, it's pretty good, very smooth, so I've probably drunk more than I should have by 19:30 :)

Brockmans Gin topped up with some Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic and of course 3 ice cubes.
If your a Gin drinker I recommend you give this gin a try along with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic as it has to be one of the nicest gins I've tasted.

some-one at work the other day was saying thei rlocal has turned into a gastro pub, and now has "specialist" gins. Someone else then said that they much prefer Fever-tree to other tonics

Yip admars in my opinion Fever-tree is the best tonic water and my preference is the Mediterranean but all Fever tree tonic's are very good my only gripe is it is expensive compared to other leading brands. You should tell your workmate if they like Gin to try Brockmans gin mixed with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, slice of red grapefruit and ice it's lovely :) although hubby does not like ice with his. Hubby used to say Gin was not for him but once he tried this he soon changed his mind.

Another tip is to slice the grapefruit and freeze it.

I tend to stock up when when fever tree is on offer.

Drinking Polish Karpackie 9% lager much later.

The roving wholesalers got together on the ferry over last weekend and upped their prices between 15% and 25% because so many Polish shops had closed down recently. I still got my discount though, but not as much as usual.
