Nope, not planning on blasting sound out I just want better speech as modern TV speakers are rubbish which are not good for my hearing aids.

Speakers won't be on the neighbours wall.

A Garmin Forerunner 45 watch for my son's birthday (which is in September, but he can have it now as an early present, as his FitBit is broken).

Really happy with the price - normally £149.99 on the Garmin website (or £139 on Currys and other sites), I got it for £112.49 using the Defence Discount Services website link.

Bargain.

It's for my Beloved who seems to be nursing a bad back for some reason and hopefully once he's had a few tots I can get back into his good graces.

The Mrs fell for one of those JML “infomercials” for the vacuum bags that you can store clothes in. Out came my wallet and they arrived this morning. Not bad (although not worth £30) but they work even better if you stand on the bag to help flatten it as the little vacuum motor does its thing.

A new 500W power supply for my desktop PC from Amazon. Bog standard unit at £25. Doesn't have quite the mix of connectors as the old one but will do the job.

And of course, now that's been installed, SWMBO wants the shower screen, bath siding, bath waste fitting, and the bathroom sink mono mixer tap replaced - just ordered them now.

On a happier note, my dearest darling had a bee in her bonnet about our front door needing replacing, and if we were doing that, we might as well(?) replace the inner porch door (what used to be the front door before the porch was built 10 years ago) - the guy who does that sort of work around our house (I'm mostly useless with that sort of thing, and we've used him for over 20 years) had an inspection, and can re-hang the front door so it aligns better (the porch had settled over 10 years, and the front door was slightly misaligned).

That saved me around £3k - he'll be getting a case of beer on top of what he bills us... :D

Yes, I saw that.

Bought a Fire Stick at half price, and a refurbed 28" TV (LG 28TL510V from RicherSounds via Amazon) for our bedroom (current one is over 12 years old, 19" with a built in DVD player).

TV was £129, Fire Stick £19.99 = 28" smart(ish) HD (720p) TV instead of a 19" SD TV for under £150 - result.

I paid £40 on Amazon.

The only bug is it doesn't play music on the phone and connects to the cars stereo, so you can only stream music.

I will try and disconnect the phone from the car and this will force Echo to use phones speaker.

I would of recommended the 4K stick for £40 it has a better processor than the other, even if using with a non 4K TV the difference is night and day.

Technically I bought it a couple of weeks ago...

A used Ubiquiti AP-AC LR access point from eBay to fix my WiFi.

It's made a world of a difference compared to using the Virgin SuperHub along with a TP-Link Access Point.

I get the impression this enterprise-grade gear is so much better and more reliable than the consumer crap most people use for home WiFi. I'd recommend it if you don't mind getting your hands slightly more dirty than you would setting up most consumer WiFi gear.

a Delta Mckenzie Wedgie Bag Target. It's a bag style archery target (about 60cmx60cm) that is wedge shaped so it can sit on the floor. Now I can shoot where ever I can safely set it down and keep form up. Even when club reopens I can practice outside our single session a week. For £80 including postage it's cheaper than alternatives that would need a stand and it sits low to ground so less chance of losing arrows as aiming downwards.

Had our new garden hose delivered yesterday and, as I expected, it has now started to rain and the forecast shows rain most days for the next week.
