You need to understand that having more money does no necessarily mean that the bigger company is just going to come in and gobble up the rights because as stated by MM it does not add up at all for Amazon..

So by that logic BT should have more Premier League matches than Sky.:banghead:

Not sure where you found the bang head emoji - but I like it.

Very apt in relation to OBs insistence that Amazon will bid for PL rights, even when Amazon executives state otherwise.

How do you make that out? Everyone knows that BT are under pressure from shareholders about the cost of their venture into football. BT does not have the ability to keep paying out more for their sport. Amazon, however, is a completely different ball game, if you pardon the pun, and could certainly afford to take on Sky if it had a mind to do so.

I have accepted that they may well not go for the rights this time, but as far as what Amazon executives may be saying, you never really know if they are just keeping their cards close to their chests to encourage lower bids from the opposition.

Well i can't say i'm surprised by this, no other company will bid for these rights as they are too expensive.

It was just Scudamore trying to up the bids.

Sky Sports signs new multi-year Indian Premier League deal.

Under the deal, Sky Sports will broadcast 60 live IPL matches each year in the UK and Ireland starting with the 2018 tournament, which begins on April 7. It also includes digital rights.

When Disney buys Sky I wonder if they could acquire all Premier League rights in the future using the Sky Sports & ESPN brand (should they regain it back from BT)

Well, the Amazon guys have certainly been showing interest in bidding, if this report is anything to go by.

Maybe Amazon are keeping their cards very close to their chest and really do intend on bidding? On the other hand they may well have decided that the cost is just too much not because they can't afford it but because they feel they wouldn't get much profit from it?

Anyone know if BT Sport will remain in the top TV pack beyond the summer? I remember seeing something on here about it maybe getting removed at some stage

If they remove that they better have something decent to replace it, or a lot of people will up sticks and go elsewhere!

One should know by late July/early August as that is previously where they have tended to make announcements about BT Sport.
