That's my feeling too. If SKY offer them £150 million, or more, for another 5 year deal I think HBO will take it. Of course you never know, BT might swoop in for the content to start their own version of SKY Atlantic. The SKY basic channels aren't on BT so BT might get innovative in regards to their entertainment portfolio.

That would be because she is right. Sky Movies get them around 12 months before Netflix on SOME MOVIES. The ones you have mentioned, Netflix get them 12 months before Sky Movies. However saying "VPN" does not change anything as she is only going by the UK Netflix.

They did say "every movie" though lol. But full credit to them when i asked about skys broadband they did the check and asked what i was getting with virgin , i told them 60mbs. They then said to me "keep it at the moment you'll only get 5mb with us." i have to admit i did appreciate their honesty on that.

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens.

And no, I don't believe in them either!

I regard media reports as pure speculation. I believe company statements, stating something has actually happened. The reason there is so much rubbish in the media is that they have pages or air time to fill.

I am grateful to everyone who knows insiders and who take the time to inform us on here, I generally thank them when I have read it. I take all info with a pinch of salt though.

Yes, but we can all predict what has actually happened...!

Pure fiction - I have queried this report from September and no one including the original poster who notified of this report offered a reply. I have logged in to Broadcast and cannot find any trace of the report from that month, in fact the last one was in June or July. I canonly presume the original poster made it up to glorify themself.

This is the earlier one - haven't found the later one yet but I'm sure I've read it. I'll keep looking. http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/b...057814.article

Yes, the rumours from the 'TV viewers' always made me laugh.

And yet you continually stated your own info was true and based on solid foundations. People constantly challenged you because you appeared to be perpetuating a rumour/speculating, based on insider info from other posters and a couple of media reports.

It now turns out you had no solid info and just spread another rumour based on insider info. The insider may well think they were told correct info, and passed said info on in good faith, but it was still a rumour to start off with.

Ironic really.

FYI, I have no problem with anyone posting info from insiders they may or may not know. I am happy to read the info. Whether I believe it or not is another matter.

Clearly you decided not to highlight the part where I said "I believe company statements"

If a company makes a statement about something that has actually launched, what makes you think they/anyone are predicting anything?

Harry, I think that basing posts on media reports is far better than posting garbage from 'Virgin Media insiders', most of whom are either fictional or planting false stories. Why do you believe that someone taking a view on media reports is perpetuating rumours?? A media report of this nature is not a rumour.

Harry, I really think you've lost your sense of humour. Read your post and my reply again. Maybe you'll see the funny side next time around. ;)

The market is changing quickly Chad and Sky will have to adapt quickly to keep at bay increasingly large and nimble opponents who are increasingly parking their tanks on most of Sky's lawns.
