Arthur,
I think you may be a little confused, there is no dedicated BT Vision Sports channel, what there is is a BT Vision service (from BT!!) and within that they offer sports channels ie Sky Sports 1&2,ESPN etc.,just like Virgin and Sky do on their platforms, hope this clears things up.

Bt are lauching their own sports channels later in the year.

They won the premiership rights from ESPN amongst others. BT are just setting things up now, they've rented their studios at the Olympic site in East London and we'll find out other details soon.

Yes.

I do not know why Virgin did not move SyFy HD to Channel 136 and keep Syfy +1 on Channel 166 I mean when Dave HD, Watch HD and Ailbi HD launch they move Dave Ja Vu, Watch +1 and Ailbi +1 to higher channels number to let the HD Channels use their old channels numbers.

Is it me but do you feel like it was a bit too much hype for just 3 channel moves? :sulk:

Not just you mate.

It seems whatever MB does there's no pleasing some forum members but alas if some were promised the keys to Fort Knox they would still moan even then that there was not enough money to go round.:)

If people are happy that 3 channels are set to move on the EPG then fair play to them, personally I don't care as do 60% of the people who voted in the poll.

That's not a dig personally at MB, as he does provide good info (at times) but I just don't think the build up to that was justified.

I'd have to agree with Paul on this one as whilst I always appreciate all the information provided by Media Boy (keep up the good work) this is a really damp squib as whilst channels number changes aren't the most exciting of topics, the build up by MB suggested wholesale changes so 3 channels moving is somewhat of a let down!

And yet they voted in the poll!

With such a big build up, I would have expected to see something more significant than 3 channels moving up the EPG to fill an empty slot. I think NBC Universal rained on MB's parade somewhat by starting to publicise the new channel positions, well before the date put forward for his exclusive announcement.

It's not really unusual for this thread though. Hyped up "coming soon" predictions followed with a sense of disappointment when the facts are finally made available. Something we should all be used to by now. :p:

Doesn't a channel shuffle mean possibly new channels coming in? Hence why it's significant enough to mention?

Indeed there could be a lot of truth in that assumption.

Or they could be no truth to that assumption.

Am I the only who gets the impression TV providers leak bits if information to certain people so that customers get retained waiting for something that may not appear, but with deniability as it was never officially announced?

It may be one of a series of "coming soon" channel reshuffles. As they have been adding new channels at the end of the 19x range and are at 197 there's only 2 slots left. After displaying the "channel has moved" captions in the cleared 16x block for a while, they will be able to move other channels into this range. And so on until space is cleared in the 19x range for new additions.

ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD and ITV4 HD spring to mind. Suggestion is a powerful tool.
