My heart goes out to the Defoe family. How much more heartache must they suffer?

Come on, be realistic. Bolton were considerably the better team. The first goal was off-side but they deserved the other 3. We were sloppy and just couldn't get hold of the game despite 5 in midfield and were restricted to counter-attacks.

We were much better when The Hudd came on. Had he started, maybe we could have done something different.

We really need to get a handle on these post-CL games. We can't afford to keep throwing them away.

Sounds like it was just a muscle problem and not his knees which is good. This type of thing happens a lot with players coming back from long-term injuries so hopefully he gets over it and is back soon. It was good to see him back if only for a few minutes.

Being a top four side is harder to achieve than people typically give credit for. It's hard to get there, as Spurs found out last season, and harder to stay there when you have to play big games during the week. Although Bolton are a difficult side to play, especially at the Reebok. I noticed Bale was quiet again, it seems English teams know how to mark him. Their right back was never left exposed in the way Maicon was by Inter.

I don't doubt that having no European games last year helped us and Citeh over Liverpool.

I disagree about Bale though. I thought he was sprightly. The commentator said prior to Pav coming on that he put 8 crosses in. Our finishing wsa blunt today but the their CBs were very organised. His crosses were good but I don't think too much beat the first man let alone the second. He didn't get the ball as much as usual though.

I think the injuries are really biting us, especially in defense. King, Woodgate, Dawson and then there's no Defoe, VDV, Lennon.

Cambridge United 0 - Huddersfield Town

Bring on The Mariners :)

A good effort by Cambridge and they almost nicked it.

I have no doubt Cambridge will get pulverised a week on Tuesday at The Galpharm Stadium, but well done to them nonetheless

Pity the match was spoiled by a disgraceful display from the Celtic 'fans' at half time. And I'm not talking about the spelling of bloodstained.

Shambolic performance from Arsenal. Again. Seriously, one of the worst I have seen from them. Newcastle were first to every ball, so many misplaced passes. Fabregas anonymous. Silly mistake cost us a point. Unbelievable.

FA Cup 2nd round draw, well one in particular.

How about this......

AFC Wimbledon or Ebbsfleet United v Stevenage or Milton Keynes Dons

They both have to win their replays first of course
