Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Yeah but look at Lewis and Hieki when Lewis had the shortened chassis for the EU GP, I think that Ferrari has for the last few weeks concentrated purely on Kimi's car with development with the 2nd car at least a few races behind

I think thats what Moto GP do. I am sure they had a big test after the Brno round. An extra day for spectators then :)
It would seem to suit everybody. Teams get actual testing Small teams get possible revenue from pay drivers New drivers get F1 mileage Spectators get more access to F1 Circuits get more income Who would loose out ? |
Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
But F1 testing ban isn't about technical issues or spectators, it's purely about cutting the costs hence allowing more teams the capability to compete..
 |
Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
I know it`s purely hypothetical but i wonder how Schumie would have gone on if he had have been the one in the driving seat, would he have faired any better than Badoer?
Probably not as bad but i doubt he would have been at the sharp end... I personally think the testing ban should be left how it is now. If incidents like the Massa one occur then whatever team is affected just has to make the best out of the situation. Looking forward to finding out what the driver situation will be for next year. Alonso to Ferrari is supposedly a done deal, so who will fill his seat? If Kimi goes, what/where will he drive? Who is going to snap up Kubica? What will be the Mclaren line up? Can the new teams attract top drivers or will they just get last dibs.. |

To spend the amount the day for 18 races and 4 tests a year is a bit of a waste. |
Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Lets face it the teams want to test, the Badoer/Massa situation shows that new drivers need time in the seat. Doing the mileage when you are already at the circuit should be very cost effective.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Liuzzi has to basically show Sutil up, and vice versa, to prove they're worthy F1 drivers. Sutil's been outclassed the last couple of races by Fisichella, and now Fisi's jumped from one of the best cars on the grid to one of the best cars on the grid with KERS. At Monza.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
End of the first session as Fisi is quicker than Kimi :D. No idea what "programmes" they were running but even so he is there or thereabouts.
Liuzzi is 1.2 off Sutil more to come I suspect. Hoping for a good race, although it looks like the McLarens could disappear off into the distance. Lets see... |
Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Fisi though has had regular racing, Liuzzi hasn't, it's a shame really

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Them Force India's are the only realistic challengers to the McLarens I reckon. Brawns are playing it safe at the moment, and Red Bull are just plain slow. Vettel's also got reduced running because of his limited engines. Toyota have problems riding the kerbs and need that sorted for their 2010 car, as it will not be competitive otherwise.
Incidentally, just watched the classic highlights of the 1988 Italian GP. Lesmo 1 and 2 are absolutely flat out. |

I suspect Luzzi will be at least five places up come Saturday afternoon. I think he has a natural ability.
