Mancini is right, Man U are my favourites as they have the 2 easier games. I can see Newcastle reacting positively after the 4-0 thrashing on the weekend!

Anyway, I thought that was the best I've seen Nasri perform in a City Shirt. He was brilliant, and would have been my candidate for man of the match.

I don't think he is right or wrong..instead he's just not playing up and putting his team on a plateau where the only way is down... The city players are probably nervous enough atm at the thought of possibly winning the league and making them the underdogs will make them fight for it all the harder :D

I really do hope you guys go on to win the next 2 games. I don't hate Utd or Fergie (in fact I think he's brilliant) but I do think you have played the better footy for most of the season!

Kind of... Ajax are 6 points clear with 2 games to play, and their GD is 24 better than Feyenoord, so unless they lose the next two games 10-0, they take the title. Don't ask me about specific players though.

One of the most talented players in Dutch football would be Christian Eriksen who plays for Ajax but the Dutch league for many many years has always produced technicaly gifted footballers from the days of Cruyff to Gullit, Bergkamp right through to RVP.

Yeah they have awesome setups over there :tu:

Eriksen has ruled out a move to England. He wants to stay at Ajax. Ajax tried throwing him in the Vertoghen deal to inflate the fee.

Eriksen is probably right to stay. At 20 he's probably better off staying with Ajax for a while longer and get playing time, as opposed to spending time on the bench at a bigger club. But, virtually all Dutch clubs struggle to hold on to their talented players. It's a small league in a country with a population of 16 million. Hard to compete with the money floating around the Premiership/La Liga etc.

DocDutch 01-05-2012 22:07

Re: Football Season 2011/12

Verthongen is a decent lb and would work perfectly with Vermaelen they played together at Ajax and also play together in the Belgian national football team.

Regarding the Dutch league in general it is more an academy nowadays then a contender for say CL finales like it used to be in the 80's

I doubt he'd partner Vermaelen with Koscielny about Doc. I think hes being brought in to be our LB. Do you reckon he could be transformed into a solid LB?

If you are looking for omens regarding the title race there are some very interesting stats in my (quality :p: ) daily paper.

The last time Man City won the title in 1968 they topped the league going into the last games of the season. They where top on goal difference from Man Utd and they played away at Newcastle and won 4-3 whist United lost to Sunderland.

How spooky is that.

Usually a agent trying to spark interesting or someone making guesses into likely targets. Someone gets a question to the player 'There is a rumour x are interested in you?" to which the only PR friendly answer is 'x are a great club, it's always flattering to be linked to such clubs but my focus is on my team'. This is then used to reinforce the rumour.

It reminds me very much of this XKCD Comic:

https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/12/19.png

I am all for the players we have been linked to but this pattern repeats itself every transfer window. It's amazing the amount of players we're linked too with people being sure 'the deal's almost done', 'advanced talks' and so on. Never anything to back them up, is just they are 'in the know', they have it from 'someone close to the club'.

We will have too, and I hope he is right. However I've seen that guy before, it just throws everything at the wall and see what sticks. He doesn't know anything, how could he? Agents are only going to be informed of their own clients and some movements in clubs which mean they need to move their client to or from the selling or receiving club. Even then it's not in their interests to tell the world what they know.

So he might be right on this. It will be right because he has thrown a load of possible moves around and this one might be on the ones that happen to be true.

At his best one of the best defenders around in his time.

Indeed, It's a shame he was unused in his later days (Notts County/Arsenal/Newcastle)

I'd warrant a guess those clubs were after a backup defender and he was just hanging on for a payday.

Just under an Hour and a half away from the start of our biggest week of the season. Chelsea away will see if we still have a chance to play Champions League football next year, Whilst we also have our say in the title race come Sunday.

age caught up with him Adz, he wasn't as fast as he once was and the fact he wasnt able to reproduce his previous years of form meant he'd get caught out.

ESPN thinking about biding for more EPL packs.

ESPN may bid for more EPL games In addition to Sky, which currently shows 115 live games per season and is determined to maintain its dominant position.

The Guardian understands that Google and Apple are likely to bid, viewing themselves as platforms rather than rights owners, but that al-Jazeera is still considering its options.

He wasn't too bad for us when he came back! Give good performances.

Hoping for Spurs and Chelsea to drop points tonight. Newcastle can have 4th, would like that, but for now I want any help we can get towards third place.

Well we shall see what happens when the rights come up but one expects Sky will at least win four of the six packages put up for sale.

A football fan has been handed a three-year stadium ban after hurling racist abuse at Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

Stephen Fitzwater was watching Chelsea take on Tottenham at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final on April 15 when he was heard making a racially offensive comment towards the player.

Other supporters took offence and reported him to a steward, and the 55-year-old from Hartland Road in Isleworth, west London, was arrested by Scotland Yard's football intelligence unit.

He admitted racially aggravated abuse at Hendon Magistrates' Court in north-west London on Monday and was given a three-year football banning order preventing him from attending any regulated football match in the UK or abroad, Scotland Yard said.

A Chelsea Football Club spokesman said: "Chelsea Football Club and the overwhelming majority of our fans abhor all forms of discrimination and believe they have no place in our club or our communities
Excellent news and lets hope it sends a stern message out to those who abuse.:tu:

We will be taking the strongest possible action against this individual, who has received a football banning order along with a lifetime ban from Chelsea Football Club. We would like to thank Chelsea fans for reporting this incident and others which occurred during the semi-final, as a result of which a number of persons have been banned for using racial and abusive language."
The same 'strongest possible action' you took against Terry
