Indeed, Eden stopped becoming a legitimate Pay TV channel with premium content long ago. It's now an uninspired loop of engineering shows. It's of absolutely no loss to Sky and Virgin whatsoever.

Engineering ?
This suggests its mostly Nature Shows (in fact mostly BBC Nature Shows since they own it).

That outdated Wikipedia listing is completely irrelevant.

Take a look at the actual schedule.

Today, it's 15 hours of Great British Landmark Fixers. Tomorrow it's Mega Air. Other days it's been constant loops of Impossible Engineering, Extreme Railways, Train Truckers etc. They've had endless runs of W stuff like Dr Christian, Ski A&E and Railway Murders.

Nah, I dont think I'll bother ;)
I dont care that much about a channel I'd never heard of.
A quick google was the extent of my interest, just to see what it was.

Virgin Media O2 posted a £3.3 billion loss in 2023 after the firm added a huge goodwill impairment to its accounts amid rising debt costs and tighter cash flows.

The telecoms giant has more than £8 billion in loans which are pegged against central bank interest rate benchmarks such as SONIA. That has led to hundreds of millions in extra debt interest costs after interest rates increased by more than 5% over the past two years. The firm’s average borrowing cost is now 5.2%, up from 4.7% a year ago.

I smell price increases...(!)

Nah all joking aside for the amount they charge i dont get how companies can lose this much money. Obviously i'm completely ignorant to the workings of a multi billion pound company but it just seems mental to lose that much. Do sky lose this much? They spend tons on premier league football

VMO2 just has lots of debt, a deliberate intention by its two owners. The operating business is sound.

Sky isn't separated out anyone, Comcast net debt is about $90 billion,

Comcast had previously written down value of Sky by $8.6 billion.

Where do they get the money ? Someone, somewhere, must be out of pocket.

And me. I wonder if the fall out from scrapping TNT Sports for Mega TV customers has been enough to create a deal to be made for it to be permanent or if Premier have spotted an opportunity because of this and offered Virgin a deal that they couldn't refuse??

Will obviously be much cheaper for Virgin to supply.

Nothing has been confirmed - Maybe Virgin don't make changes at Weekend anymore to save even MORE money.
